A typical IQ test will contain many subtests like Information (“What’s the capital of Turkey?”), Verbal analogies (“heavy is to football as tall is to?”), Comprehension (“Why do pizza restaurants put their name on the pizza box?”), Vocabulary (“What does the word rudimentary mean?”) and many more.
But how do we know these different subtests are measuring different functions. For example, the Information subtest could have the question, “How many people are in a couple?” and a vocabulary test could ask “What does the word ‘couple’ mean?”. Both these questions are asking essentially the same thing, yet depending on how they are worded, they could appear on different subtests.
Similarly, the question “Biden is to the United States as Trudeau is to?” might appear on a verbal analogy subtest as a measure of abstract reasoning, but if we worded “what country is Trudeau the leader of?” it would appear on the Information subtest as a measure of long-term memory, even though both versions of the question would correlate near perfectly.
Or the question “Why do we have ears?” could appear on either the Information subtest as a measure of general knowledge, or it could appear on the Comprehension subtest as a measure of common sense depending on what side of the bed Wechsler woke up on that morning.
So how do we know the different subtests in an IQ battery are actually measuring different cognitive functions and not just redundantly measuring the same thing in different ways?
Well, we would need to show that the different items in subtest A all correlated more with one another than they do with the items on any other subtest. A more sophisticated approach is factor analysis, a statistical technique which sees if a large number of variables can be explained by a smaller number of variables.
The original WAIS for example had 11 subtests, but factor analysis concluded that in addition to g (general intelligence) they all could be explained by just three factors: verbal, spatial and memory.
Of course by adding more subtests, you can increase the number of factors. For example Digit-Symbol (a measure of clerical speed) loaded on the memory factor in the original WAIS, but when they added more tests of rapid clerical work, a fourth factor dubbed processing speed emerged. The children’s Wechsler now measures five factors.
How many factors exist in the human mind? It’s a fascinating question because even though the number of subtests one can create is literally infinite, the number of factors is finite. In the biggest battery of tests I’ve ever heard of, 57 subtests were reduced to 19 factors, and these 19 factors were reduced to just four higher level factors.
In this way intelligence is kind of analogous to race. There are dozens of different ethnic groups (Italian, Polish, Brahman, Japanese, Sudanese etc) and these can be reduced to maybe one dozen clusters, which can perhaps be further reduced to just three races (Black, Caucasoid, and Mongoloid)?
“What’s the capital of Turkey?”
I was surprised to find out it’s no longer Istanbul-not-Constantinople
“heavy is to football as tall is to?”
“Why do pizza restaurants put their name on the pizza box?”
The first answer that came to mind is, “So you know where the pizza came from”, but if you carry a pizza out of the restaurant or have it delivered to you, you would presumably know what restaurant supplied it. Perhaps for advertising, in hopes that passersby, e.g., house guests at a pizza party, who see the box will be reminded that the pizza chain exists. It might even be that the pizza chain contracts another company to make their pizza boxes, and that company does this for many pizza chains, so the box manufacturer labels the boxes separately for each of the contracting pizza companies in order to make warehouse sorting and shipping easier.
“How many people are in a couple?”
Literally, 2, especially in the context of people, but people often use “couple” to mean a set with more than two elements.
“Biden is to the United States as Trudeau is to?”
“Why do we have ears?”
I could wax philosophical for volumes about this question, but I figure the answer you want is, “so we can hear”.
“In the biggest battery of tests I’ve ever heard of, 57 subtests were reduced to 19 factors, and these 19 factors were reduced to just four higher level factors.”

Could I get a name or link to this?
thats not how science works Pumpkin.
Pumpkin i need to ask you a question i think is answerable and very important to get across:
what do you think of each user on this blog? what do you think they are good at and bad at from your perspective?
simple questions just want an answer to suffice my curiosity for what feelings you harbor to us who serve you as no other has served before!
For the ears- I think it may additionally also have something to do with balance. IDK if people without both ears are just as balanced as regular people but there might be a link. At the very least I think the ear formation helps in attuning the sound.
yes i love factor analysis too! it is fun to reduce things to their simplest roots something that is similar to factor analysis as well as a way of serving as an opposite to it but factor analysis for me is being able to take many things and kind of converge on a single point which i love doing.
like taking big chunks of information and asking what they have in common. its beautiful!
“Why do pizza restaurants put their name on the pizza box?”
I would say most don’t because generic boxes are less expensive except if you are selling thousands and then the cost of customizing is minimal .
So the person who asks this question should be asked why don’t you go to real local pizza restaurant and only to pizzerias from big chain like Pizza Hut or Dominos ?
what does this even mean!
I think in the US/Canada there are less small pizzerias than in Europe (except maybe New York since it is a city and has a lot of Italians). Around the US the most common nonchain restaurants are burger joints and I guess other ethnic specialties of the region (like Mexican food).
thats not what that means.
Pumpkin where did my comment to Lurker go?
i think it’s there now
PP, do you have any experience doing factor analysis? I mean the mathematical intricacies. I could probably get some software package to do it for me.
No I don’t. But it sounds like so much goddamn fun!

LOL, that’s exactly what I was imagining!
The Philosopher said:
Seriously though, there are certain ‘factors’ or types of intelligence we don’t know how to measure that would be indirectly picked up by some subtests almost by accident.
The Philosopher said:
Of course Puppy denies that certain types of intelligence exist because its not on the test.
No I see IQ tests like a poll. You’re never going to survey everyone, but a poll of just a few thousand Americans can closely predict how 139 million Americans will vote. Similarly, the 20th century Wechsler, with just 11 subtests, might closely predict how your mind adapts to thousands of different environments.
Of course a key difference between the Wechsler and a Gallup poll is the latter can use the census to make sure all the major parts of the populations are proportionally represented. There’s no census of the human mind so psychologists are working blind when making IQ tests, except they do have g as a guide to what abilities to emphasize.
The Philosopher said:
But g is inversely correlated to social intelligence
FALSE. The average social genius has an IQ of around 125. The average autistic has an IQ around 70.
The Philosopher said:
You just made that fact up about the average IQ of a social genius.

lack of social intelligence is often conflated with simply being different or not cool, which is hard for someone who studies a lot to avoid. there are many societies and many societies within every society. in some societies american social norms are considered not cool. like smiling all the time. a biker bar requires different social “skills” than a seminar on category theory.
how exactly did Pill fare then? did he get a 10, 11, or a perfect? if he got 10 i would say youre being overdramatic Pumpkin i wouldve scored ten anyways.

“Brahman is not an ethnicity peeps. You cannot spot a Brahman out of any random group of Indians.”
David Reich, a paleo-geneticist like Svanta Pääbo – wrote – in Who we are How we got there – that 30% of all 8000 Indian Jatis (endogamous sun-casts) – including most Brahmin jatis and other superior casts jatis like merchants – were more isolated than the 2 most isolated European ethnic groups, ashkenazim and Finns.
So Brahmin cast would be a set of ethnic groups – Jatis – more than an ethnic group itself but with members having more similar traits (compared to other Indians).

i have about 30% Pashtun ancestry honestly. i actually have the closest genetic distance to the Kalash people as well.
Mugabe, southern indian Brahmins rarely have lighter skin than other southern Indian. That is why I said one can’t spot a Brahmin out of a group of indian people.
Brahmin features are oftentimes very evident though.
There is a caste called aryavysya ( which I am) and there features are more evident. They are the only caste who you probably can spot in a lineup. That too only some of them.
they seem to be a mix of wanna-be Gujaratis and Jains! anyways India is such a backwards country anyways no one really cares about how they look only how they perform.
Indians dont look very good tbh.
Who is a mix of jains and gujratis?
Also not just indians but south asians in general don’t look good. In my opinion, after Sub-Saharan Africans…..south asians are the ugliest except people of the northernmost parts of south Asia.
Also pakistan is much more backward than india. It is funny that a person from a backward country is calling another country backward. It is this sort for things that amuse other people about south asians.
no India is way more backwards. the poverty levels of India are far more severe than Pakistans!

Good point. But I doubt chinese are three to four times more likely than others to favor central power in one person. But the chinese people who he is ruling over are atleast 3 to 4 times more numerous than other people ruled by dictotors. yeah i would love to take it.
i think my social judgment is very good but some of the questions i got wrong because i overthink things and try to place myself in the test-makers shoes and see if i can come up with something honest either for myself or for others.
my theoretical social IQ is probably 140 but my practical social IQ is only 120 according to a friend of mine. i dont implement what i think is imperative because sometimes its hard to do due to pride and other things that can get in the way or to put it bluntly maybe the bipolar.

IMO the muscle in this case just makes the natural fat and shape of the women look more womanly, because we don’t differentiate between muscle and fat that easily I guess. It’s not that the muscles make them more attractive but they give an illusion of a more curvy figure.
Skinny women naturally appeal to our preference for delicate features in a woman. But in the same way that muscle (or just being fat) adds to the appearance of being curvy without actually having that natural body type, the skinnyness adds to the appearance of smaller, delicate features, without naturally being smaller or delicate. You can tell on greater inspection by looking at certain parts of the body or the body as a whole.
Of course a woman being mentally and physically strong is something to be admired and indicates a good partner regardless.

RR doesn’t believe blacks have more T because hes retarded. All he has to do is open his eyes.
You literally have cases of blacks who have never went to the gym before who are totally ripped.
Social Constructivists try to one-by-one destroy any physical difference correlating with mental differences, but they also want to dispell of any physical differences between the races. If they don’t believe that physical differences cause behavior changes, why do they care whether or not blacks have more testosterone? Why do they care about brain sizes or other body differences? It’s all environment anyway!
RR says that T doesn’t cause aggression, but also that blacks don’t have higher T. But neither of these help prove the hypothesis that environment and culture is the cause of mental difference. T not causing aggression only means that different T levels between races would not create differences in aggression. Blacks not having higher T would only mean that the violence of blacks is not specifically from T. Neither of these explain anything because even if they are true, there are still so many other physiological differences between the races.
But if you are a social constructivist, or a non-cartesian substance dualist, there’s not really any point in any study about the human body because you essentially believe in unfalsifiable magic that states that anything physical has no correspondence to the mental.

The good news is you got the second highest score of anyone in my clinical group. The bad news is the only person to beat you was Pill.
But then David Wechsler famously said sociopaths sometimes do well on this test which might explain Pill’s performance
i can believe that (remember i missed one question due to time being run out which I wouldve gotten if i were paying attention to the clock). Pill is highly perceptive though maybe youre joking about it i dunno.
who else took the test? how many people have taken the test? give me some feedback here man i didnt spend time on this test for you to leave me in the dark about it! lol!

“You can summarise RR by just calling him dumb. You don’t need to write all that.”
There are a lot of people (Social constructivists/environmentalists/Wokists) who believe the same things.
“there are good whites and despicable whites same with any race. i dont find them to be all that awful i just dont appreciate their constant need to promote themselves and commit injustices without making any actual progress towards change.

I don’t see how whites commit injustices any more than any other group?
Well, it is hard to figure out how many hyperliberal woke whites there are, or how many there naturally would be if they understood the average differences between the races. There is a lot of propaganda and it specifically targets whites, and the black murder rate (the ole’ 60-13) or amount of “right-wing extremists” is manipulated and lied about.
But even if I were to agree with you, obviously there is a lot of good things Western culture has done, so at worst it would be a double-edged sword.
“RR says that T doesn’t cause aggression, but also that blacks don’t have higher T. But neither of these help prove the hypothesis that environment and culture is the cause of mental difference.”
Aggression causes T to increase. Robert Sapolsky has good writings on this. And if you understand T production, you’ll understand why aggression causes T increases.
“T not causing aggression only means that different T levels between races would not create differences in aggression. Blacks not having higher T would only mean that the violence of blacks is not specifically from T.”
Even if the claim that blacks had higher T than whites were true – in the direction that hereditarians claim (like Rushton’s shoddy claim using Ross et al 1988) – then it still wouldn’t mean that T caused black’s high aggression. See Mazur’s works on this issue, specifically his honor culture hypothesis in why young black men with low education have higher T, and this jives with my claim that aggression increases T levels. He shows that black men with higher education don’t have the same levels as blacks with lower education in the NHANES dataset he analyzed. Using NHANES 2011-2012, he showed that young black men wkth little education had T 100 ng/dl higher than whites. This pattern isn’t seen in teens nor women. In an older paper, Mazur showed that what explained the ever so slightly higher rate of T in blacks compared to whites and Mexicans was lower rates of marriage and lower rates of adiposity.
“Neither of these explain anything because even if they are true, there are still so many other physiological differences between the races.”
Sorry, do you think I deny all differences between races?
“there’s not really any point in any study about the human body”
This is nonsense. My studies in A and P are definitely worth it and I’ve learned a ton on the human body and variations within individuals and groups (races).
Not discussing mental/physical here, I’ll return to that conversation with you at a later time.
I rebutted Ross et al here.
If you know what to look for, the errors they made are large and glaring.
Ross et al’s claim is that the so-called higher T led to a higher incidence of PCa. But newer research shows that PCa is unrelated to incidences of PCa, and shows that injecting people wkth T does not exacerbate PCa.
“Perhaps the biggest problem is that Ross et al is a 32-year-old paper (which still gets cited favorably despite its huge flaws) while our understanding of the hormone and its physiology has made considerable progress in that time frame. So it’s in fact not so weird to see papers like this that say “Prostate cancer appears to be unrelated related to endogenous testosterone levels” (Boyle et al, 2016). Other papers also show the same thing, that testosterone is not related to prostate cancer (Stattin et al, 2004; Michaud, Billups, and Partin, 2015). This kills a lot of theories and hypotheses, especially regarding racial differences in prostate cancer acquisition and mortality. So, what this shows is that even if blacks did have 15 percent higher serum testosterone than whites as Ross et al, Rushton, Lynn, Templer, et al believed then it wouldn’t cause higher levels of prostate cancer (nor aggression, which I’ll get into later).”
If Rushton et al’s claims about T causing aggression are true, then injecting people supraphysiologic doses of T would cause heightened aggression and anger. But 2 studies where researchers injected people with 200 and 600 mg of T per week didn’t observe heightenedeveks of anger nor aggression.
“Injecting individuals with supraphysiological doses of testosterone as high as 200 and 600 mg per week does not cause heightened anger or aggression (Tricker et al, 1996; O’Connor et, 2002).”
This, in my view, definitively shows that the claims from hereditarians regarding T and aggression are false. Lee Ellis has, for decades, attempted to show that his
Lee Ellis attempted to show that his evolutionary nueroandrogenic (ENA) theory has empirical support by using similar studies on T and other correlates. But it fails since they rest on the same shoddy reasoning and interpretations like the studies I alluded to above.
At the end of the day, hereditarians need to stop interpreting these kinds of studies in an evolutionary context because their interpretations are false, such as Lynn’s 1990 use of Ross et al 1986 in showing that lower T is shifting to a “K strategy”, in an attempt to lend support to Rushton’s false r/K selection theory).
go rebutt yourself! said:
I rebutted Ross et al here…
why are you rebutting people?
that sounds gay.
“Sorry, do you think I deny all differences between races?”
I’m saying that even if one denies T causing aggression, and even with saying aggression causes T, we are left with a lot more physiological differences between the races that could go towards explaining behavioral differences.
“See Mazur’s works on this issue, specifically his honor culture hypothesis in why young black men with low education have higher T, and this jives with my claim that aggression increases T levels. He shows that black men with higher education don’t have the same levels as blacks with lower education in the NHANES dataset he analyzed. Using NHANES 2011-2012, he showed that young black men wkth little education had T 100 ng/dl higher than whites.”
This can be explained that any person of any race with less aggression is more likely to do well in the school system, and also those who are more intelligent and studious will not need to rely on T/aggression for success. Women do better in modern schools, despite not being more intelligent, because of willingness to sit and follow instruction for long periods of time.
You can’t assume that education causes less aggression and T, rather than the reverse of more aggression and T causing less education.
If unemployment and relative poverty causes violence, we can assume that the system is making these people violent rather than their genetics. Or we can assume their genetics make them unemployed, and hence violent. The “honor culture” might have a genetic correlation.
Black teens may have similar levels of T as White and Asian teens, but what about brain sizes? What about specific areas of the brain, or other hormones besides T? We know that people view Black children as looking older compared to Asians or Whites or Hispanics, so there are other physiological factors besides T that make them seem more masculine or threatening.
“Women do better in modern schools, despite not being more intelligent”
I don’t understand how you can keep saying this, when I’ve proven to you that the difference between men and women is negligible, and since Terman’s S-B keeps getting renormed that his assumptions still have relevance to this day? “Despite not being more intelligent” means what, 3 or 4 points? There is no distinction between achievement and “IQ” tests—they’re different versions of the same test.
“You can’t assume that education causes less aggression and T, rather than the reverse of more aggression and T causing less education.”
It’s an undeniable, physiological fact that what occurs throughout the day changes hormone levels – meaning they are “acute” – since physiology is homeodynamic. Mazur’s analysis clearly showed that in the less educated 20-29 NHANES sample that they had higher T, and that’s due to what would theoretically be occurring in their environment (the culture of honor).
“The “honor culture” might have a genetic correlation.”
What may the correlation be and is it causal? The ol’ “genetic confounding” claim, how predictable. We know the pathways in which T rises/is produced in the body and we know they are environmentally driven.
“What about specific areas of the brain, or other hormones besides T? We know that people view Black children as looking older compared to Asians or Whites or Hispanics, so there are other physiological factors besides T that make them seem more masculine or threatening.”
Media perceptions, for one. For two, do you have any papers in mind for that last claim? I’d rather not take vague generalities, I’d rather take links to research and argument, as I’ve been giving you. What backs your “genetic confounding” claim for honor cultures, which has been a mere handwavy phrase to attempt to seat away known environmental causes that go against hereditarian thinking? What areas of the brain and what other hormones besides T? The fact of the matter is, T doesn’t drive aggression, as Sapolsky has clearly shown, so the hereditarian must look elsewhere. And looking at their track records with the recent retraction (eg Rushton and Templer), it doesn’t look good.
By the way, Mazur (2016) is a replication of the findings from Mazur and Boith (2009). The clear implications of this research is that it provides empirical support for the claim that physiology is malleable. The research and argument I linked merely prove that being aggressive increases T levels, which lends more empirical support to Sapolsky’s arguments on aggression increasing T levels—behavioral differences drive hormonal changes.
I’m interested in what you have to say that (empirically) backs your claim about “other hormones” and “brain regions” in the context of this discussion and I expect references and argument for the claim. The one main pillar hereditarians have been using for decades has crumbled and crumbled spectacularly.

“racism” is far more interesting than race from a philosophical pov.
no one believes race is the primary determinant of anything. but such belief is the best definition of “racism”. so, in reality, there are no actual racists…if there ever were any.
so today noticing characteristics of another group is racism.
and soi-disant anti-racists invariably point out “only a small minority of that group you racist!”
philosophical question: when is discrimination against all the members of a group a good/justifiable thing when the problem is just a small subset of that group?
simple answer: depends on what the problem of that problem subset is and how easy it is to tell them apart. is it carrying a deadly disease like typhoid mary?
labeling things is very interesting. race is arbitrary but has utility for sure. categorizing and labeling things is innate in us so that is why we do it!

In finance, the greater fool theory suggests that one can sometimes make money through the purchase of overvalued assets — items with a purchase price drastically exceeding the intrinsic value — if those assets can later be resold at an even higher price.
In this context, one “fool” might pay for an overpriced asset, hoping that he can sell it to an even “greater fool” and make a profit. This only works as long as there are enough new “greater fools” willing to pay higher and higher prices for the asset. Eventually, investors can no longer deny that the price is out of touch with reality, at which point a sell-off can cause the price to drop significantly until it is closer to its fair value, which in some cases could be zero.

PP and the denizens of his blog – what tickles your fancy when it comes to beer/alcohol? For me, I drank Budweiser for years. Then I bought Guinness on a whim one football Sunday and my life was forever changed I’ve come to learn that I like really bitter, chocolate, caramel tastes in my beer. And this tracks because I love black coffee and also love trying different coffees with different taste profiles, leaning more bitter, caramel, chocolaty. When it comes to alcohol I can’t stand the clear stuff but I love a good dark liquor like a Jack Honey or a Johnny Walker. Brown alcohol has way better taste profiles than clear, I think.
I’m rotating around Guinness (of course, my 1A) and Rogue Chocolate Nitro Stout (1B) and Rogue Double Chocolate Stout (2). Funny enough, I bought a Budweiser a few months ago and it tasted like shit and my Guinness still kinda tasted like it. Only way I’ll drink it again is if I don’t bring my own beer and I’m at a social function and that’s all they have to drink.

There’s a pretty nice liquer called Bailey’s here. I’m not sure if its Irish but they add a bit of cream to it and its great.
I’m at a Thanksgiving function right now and you already know I bought some Guinness. I’ve not had Bailey’s before but I had a Guinness float a few weeks back (Guinness blender with vanilla ice cream) and it was really good. I saw some recipes saying to use some Bailey’s so I’m going to use that next time I make it. I’ll let you know what I think of it when I try it. I’m pretty sure Bailey’s is Irish. our society is corrupt! morally bankrupt and starting to destroy itself! it should choose to rejuvenate but it wont.
i blame all the technologies and inventions from white people that Lurker touts as being the stronghold of our society. what a waste it was.
Or maybe it’s different cultural values that never should have been mixed causing a lot of these problems. People abusively using technology they never could have created.
yeah thats definitely the root of the problem! but there should have been more foresight as to how the tech would be used dont you think?
that it would demolish society i mean….and then whites who didnt have the foresight complain that theyre in a bad position now! like either take credit for the inventions and realize that they had negative consequences to them or also realize that maybe your inventions werent yours to begin with!
you can only pick one choose wisely!
There are better and worse solutions to the problem of different races not being adaptable to the same culture but there’s no perfect solution.
no shit sherlock. that was such a broad assessment of things i dont think you got to where i was headed.
but what i was trying to say is that whites creating a society where everyone has access to technology has hindered its progress in other ways and thus destroyed its sense of functioning!
yes there are better solutions and worse solutions and yes i agree there is no perfect solution where exactly were you headed with this lol?
I mean there is no perfect solution that makes technological progress painless for everyone or makes multiple cultures/races equal in society.
Blaming Western culture’s ability to progress technology and globalize for all the problems we have today is like blaming the ancient ancestor who discovered fire for the thousands of years of struggle after that, instead of appreciating what it enables us to do.
this is probably one of my last comments here so i will say this: Western society has decayed because of rapid technological progress left unchecked and unchained to progress in other more important aspects of society like human decency etc.
rapid industrialization mobilized by whites has done more harm than good.
a better society would be one that prioritizes the right aspects of things and tries to fix those problems instead of jumping from one thing to another….
which is what most whites anyways advocate for by saying they hate science etc. for destroying their ways of life.
so indeed your rationalizations are a contraction to the agenda you support Lurker.
Yes, whites have some responsibility in the current state of things. Even if “Jews” controlled the direction of society and propagandized, whites still hold some responsibility for listening to them… as does every group who partakes in what whites have created.
How in the world can you isolate one but not the other? Being inbred?

there you go Anime the answer to your life! now stop asking stupid questions!
How could one random guy assign an IQ up to a fine tuning of 2 points? I don’t think you can even reliably measure one person up to 5 points unless that person is the most IQ tested person in history. Look at how much national IQ stats fluctuate even with huge sample sizes.
yeah that is why i said he averages something like that. i dont think anyone can definitely know their IQ but we can assess how they do in different circumstances and try to find out!

Fair enough. I guess you could say a range between 113-123, but if a range is implied than there’s no need. It still feels weird to me though. Like when album reviews are rated to the percentage point, like “6.8/10”. How the hell is someone’s opinion of something that accurate? Unless it’s an aggregate of people (then it’s just an average) or if it’s the person’s most listened to album ever (but even then it’s still strange).
Social Judgement BONUS QUESTION
was I close pumpkin?
you will do a post on the test you made soon?
No, you Loaded & Pill all failed the bonus question. Ganzir & Bruno got it right. It appears to be more of a test of g than social judgement per se.
Ganzir & Bruno g is above 155
but what social IQ does your test give to me?
too soon to say
is g just genetic IQ? my genetic IQ is probably as high as yours Pumpkin i have a 135 genetic IQ.
if g is not genetic IQ then Anime is making shit up. no way Ganzir has a total ability of 155 or Bruno does either. theyre social retards! thats like half of g cut off right there!
Ganzir is not even knowledgeable he thought that Istanbul was the capital of Turkey and not Ankara! he can barely name famous faces! he doesnt even critically think well!
and Bruno is very intelligent in a very singular focus. he cant expand his mind to grasp things that he doesnt find interesting.
their g are obviously limited!
Loaded why would I expand my mind to things I don’t find interesting. I could try to expand my interests but there are already very broad and varied.
As for social intelligence, I would say it’s like math. It can be reached by various ways. Not like engineering where you need spatial IQ nor law or philosophy where you need verbal IQ. Either is good.
For example, I am the worst at recognizing faces emotions (fear, pain, pleasure, hope etc) but I was in the top 1% recruiter in a very elitist company and based on objective factors : the person selected accept the job, join the company, isn’t fired nor leave before 2 years, is happy with the job and the team is happy with this person. On those criteria – despite being unable to read faces – no one had ever had bettter metrics than me. So I reached social excellence without having the minimal social clues. My technique was just asking good questions and analyzing answers with my brain …
Another example is my ability to understand movies and predict what’s gonna happen (Game of Thrones, Breaking Bad) without being able to read faces nor recognize characters when they change their costume or hair 🙂
So maybe they lack social intelligence in not understanding social cues, and you lack it by going into a psychotic rage whenever someone disagrees with you?
Maybe you don’t consider it a psychotic rage but that’s how everyone else views it.
you write loaded questions pumpkin
(g) stands for general intelligence and is at the top of factor analysis, not a subscore loaded.
“going into a psychotic rage whenever someone disagrees with you?”
Mugabe and Loaded are very similar.
that the true answer to the bonus question is the answer cannot be determined with the information at hand. it is indeterminate.
that is a high g answer.
then it is arbitrary/subjective
I had a good answer.
“Mugabe and Loaded are very similar.”
True, they’re like a match made in heaven (or hell).
Melo you think mugabe and I are similar? How much crack do you smoke?
“Ganzir is not even knowledgeable he thought that Istanbul was the capital of Turkey and not Ankara!”
One item does not a test make. You need many items to cancel out measurement error.
Serendipitously enough, not long after PP gave me that bonus question, I saw it in a supposed [redacted by pp, 2022-11-26] on YouTube. I guess getting it right, which took me a couple seconds, said more about me than I would have hoped it would.
I redacted that because it might give a hint to how to think about the question.
I dont think the bonus question is really a good one in terms of « g » load.
Because, yes, the answer is logical, given the problem set – and it is probably the only good one I could reach.
However the problem set per se doesn’t really fit common sense description of a realistic situation.
So when an hypothesis is in fact false, the problem is trivialized from a logical standpoint, because all answers make the deduction true. Said otherwise, from a false premise, everything goes. That is the sheer definition of trivialization.
So don’t obsess yourself Kitty with that question, it’s absolutely not worth your time …
I just used google.
If you can answer this riddle, apparently you’re a [redacted by pp, 2022-11-26]
Vegan DHA said:
“Said otherwise, from a false premise, everything goes.”
Could you explain that? Because in the way I understand it, it’s incorrect. Like: Your name is Brujo, hence you have one testicle. False premise, but also false conclusion (I assume).
Maybe you mean that if the premise is false, you can never know which conclusion could be true or not, because it’s an alternative reality?
No Vegan. If “something false” then “anything = false or true” is always true because it is equivalent to “true” or not (true or false” wich is always true:
I recognize it’s a bit complicated. Philosophers when they learn aristotelician logic learn it by heart but most never understand it.
But like multiplication or division it’s always easy to learn the tables and then little by little learn the true meaning of the operation by solving different kind of problems …
But for this, it’s more mathematician learning to write proof that are able to understand this

“Maybe you mean that if the premise is false, you can never know which conclusion could be true or not, because it’s an alternative reality”
It’s not that you can’t know whether the conclusion is true or false. Let’s assume you can. It’s that the deduction will always be true because it’s realized by the negation of the hypothesis (not not true) wich is always the case.
It’s a bit abstract …

Thanks for trying again, but I still don’t get it. I love abstract stuff and logic so maybe I’ll read it again at some other time.

that BMW has no growth prospects doesn't matter. said:
if you axed the mavins of value investing, aka investing, which they’d rather hold shares in BMW or TSLA, ALL of them would say BMW.
a lot would say they wouldn’t want either, but mugabe’s game is just picking the best/cheapest within each industry, not picking industries.
TSLA’s market cap is right now worth more than the next 5 largest car companies put together.
TSLA’s earnings ttm = 12.6b
top 5 together’s earnings ttm = 112.65b
so TSLA is worth more than all of them put together, yet has only 1/9th their earnings.
and that’s right now, not when it was at its peak.
if you own shares in TSLA you’re mentally retarded.

BMW is cool. I have one. It’s just not something I would invest in. Doesn’t really make sense to.

thinking about it…
1. TSLA’s fantastic growth has confused people…they forget that its industry is not growing and hasn’t been for a long time…it is expanding into a fixed space.
2. TSLA will have to become something way more than a car co…does anyone believe it will? when musk is already signalling his departure from executive responsibilities? i mean do people really believe TSLA will be colonizing mars (or whatever bullshit) in the foreseeable future?
3. AMZN crashed in the dot com bubble by 90+% iirc, and then became yuge. this may happen to TSLA, but not without musk and as with AMZN, its great future was not foreseeable. its 2000 price was irrational, only rational in retrospect.

so he sold (some) SBNY et al as soon as their prices became stupid.
and then sold again (some) when their prices became retarded.
but he never sold all his shares because mugabe is a lazy alcoholic who can’t keep a list of cos to buy again once their prices stop being retarded.
you fail to understand how berserk i can get if i get angry enough. i will demolish you Mug. i will leave you in a pool of your own blood.

Arab Christians are one of the most educated groups in Israel. Statistically, Arab Christians in Israel have the highest rates of educational attainment among all religious communities, according to a data by Israel Central Bureau of Statistics in 2010, 63% of Arab Christians have had college or postgraduate education, the highest of any religious group. Despite the fact that Arab Christians only represent 2.1% of the total Israeli population, in 2014 they accounted for 17.0% of the country’s university students, and for 14.4% of its college students. The percentage of Arab Christian women who are receiving higher education is also higher than that of other groups. There are more Christians who have attained a bachelor’s degree or higher academic degrees than the median Israeli population.
The rate of students studying in the field of medicine was higher among Christian Arab students than that of all other sectors.
In 2013, Arab Christian students were also the vanguard in terms of eligibility for higher education, as the Christian Arab students had the highest rates of receiving Psychometric Entrance Test scores which make them eligible for acceptance into universities, data from the Israel Central Bureau of Statistics show that 61% of Arab Christians were eligible for university studies, compared to 50% of Jewish, 45% of Druze, and 35% of Muslim students.
In terms of their socio-economic situation, Arab Christians are more similar to the Jewish population than to the Muslim Arab population. They have the lowest incidence of poverty and the lowest percentage of unemployment which is 4.9% compared to 6.5% among Jewish men and women. They have also the highest median household income among Arab citizens of Israel and second highest median household income among the Israeli ethno-religious groups. Arab Christians also have a high presentation in science and in the white collar professions. In Israel, Arab Christians are portrayed as a hard-working and upper-middle-class educated ethno-religious minority. According to study the majority of Christians in Israel (68.2 per cent) are employed in the service sector, i.e. banks, insurance companies, schools, tourism, hospitals etc.

By limiting your definition of ‘investment,’ I’m saying that you’re consequently limiting the opportunities you have to make money.
There is risk in any investment. Warren buffet’s mistake is that he thinks value investing is somehow different. Retail investors don’t have the luxury of waiting, so I don’t blame them for investing the way they do. They’re also grown-ass adults, so they should understand that when they participate in the stock market, there is always a bag holder, which could very well be them. Nobody is evil; they’re just better at the game.
What is evil is gatekeeping investing. Many elites blame apps like Robinhood or Webull for the whole GameStop fiasco. Using colorful buttons and confetti to make investing appear as a game to proles. However, the entire reason apps like that could proliferate was due to the purposeful obfuscation by the elites to make sure investing was reserved for the highly educated and wealthy.
Investing isn’t hard, but people like to pretend it’s a science. There’s a reason Finance/business bros are made fun of by other majors.
