koko took an IQ test meant for infants. Getting 75 to 95 on that isn’t the same as a 75 to 95 on an adult test. It means that koko at best was a nearly dumb infant, I am pretty sure that this would be a lower level of intelligence than a 68 IQ adult.
Technically koko might have an IQ of 85 compared to u.s. babies, but those babies will quickly surpass koko as they grow while koko’s cognitive development stops, causing her IQ to free fall with age

I was wondering about the age thing. I know that older IQ tests from the 20th century have some mental age vs physiological age ratio, but based on what little I have read about the subject, the newer IQ tests don’t work like that or are age normed. How exactly does the calculation procedure work with the new IQ tests?
So if she was around 85 on an infant scale, then that means that she would be about as intelligent as an African-American infant, correct? or does the gap of 85 vs 100 appear/get close to the 15 point value later on in life? On the old IQ tests, the ratio of mental age to chronological age had a mean of 100% (i.e. average child progressed mentally 100% of his chronological age) with an SD of 10-20+ depending on age & type of ability tested.
On new IQ tests, they forget about mental age but look at your percentile for your age & assign it a score that corresponds to a normal curve with a mean of 100 & SD of 15. The new method gives similar results to the old method for most kids, but is less extreme at the extremes
