I couldn’t let Friday the 13th pass without posting something horror related. I recently watched the 2020 horror film Monstrous on Shudder. The film is about two women who have never met before (one is lesbian, the other bisexual) who go on a log cozy road trip to the lesbian’s cottage where a lot of pretty young women have gone missing. Some suspect they’re being killed by a serial killer, others suspect it’s sasquatch. The bisexual risks it all to find out the truth.
Well worth watching if you’re fan of monster movies, slashers, wilderness, or if you just get off on watching pretty women make out. 🙂

I was once asked to go to Israel by some obscure organization. The person said on the forum I visit I should take certain drugs to cure my mental illness. That once I take them I should pronounce it and they would send me a plane ticket. Since the group was in Israel they needed me to do research for them.
I am not sure what this means but pill might know. I kinda get the nature of the research they might need me for just cuz of what I post on the forums I visit.

Is Tenet good? I saw a black guy as the lead and thought it would be a terrible film because of it. But Christopher Nolan makes good movies.

I guess its hard to argue with this article but when you write a narrative about why something happened, you usually bend the narrative to fit the facts. Its like when people say why the UK became the preeminent world power…e.g. it was because they were an island….well you know most people could say being an island was a disadvantage right?

I had an observation playing AOE 2 the other day – why are there so many civilisations in Europe and only a few in the rest of the world (relatively). There really was a lot of tribal diversity in Europe objectively.
The US is now down to 58% white. Factoring in that some of those are MENA and/or mixed race…the US really is treading water in being a majority nation.
Everyone here knows what HBD predicts will happen when the country becomes even more brown, or god help us all, blacks.

Canada is an interesting example of bringing only high IQ minority groups like east and south asians. And the US is a terrible example of bringing in the world’s trash. Easy to figure out that Canada will be richer than the US eventually per capita.

It’s genetic. They have bigger brains. Yes they work hard but only because they know they’ll see a return on their time investment that inferior people won’t. Hard work increases the differences but leaves the rank unchanged
I get that you want that to be the case; it’s somewhat pleasing that even complex things like intelligence differentials can have tangible, concise explanations like brain size. I don’t think it’s possible that all peoples evolved the exact same cognitive functioning, but I try to be open-minded about the role culture has to play in such emergent phenomena.

But it’s consistent with Rushton’s claims that East Asians are not only smarter, but more conscientious and rule abiding .
although gladwell’s probably right about attitude playing a huge role on some tests. Indeed that’s my explanation for much of the Flynn effect gains we see on the Raven. Nutrition alone seems insufficient to explain them.
