HBO has already given us the best TV show of all time (six feet under) and the best documentary of all time (Leaving Neverland) and now it strikes again with one of the best teen dramas of all time (Euphoria),.
Teen dramas have really changed a lot since I watched Dawson’s Creek in high school. This is much edgier, much more diverse, and much darker. Unlike the lilly white wholesome Dawson of my generation, the main character on this show Rue, is like a female Melo (see the comment section), a mixed race bad-ass who has sex with whites, dances to rap, and is not afraid to play hardball. She looks like she may have been cast by the show’s executive producer Drake.
Rue’s white drug dealer is very protective of Rue and thinks of her as his baby sister. So when the tall popular white jock blackmails Rue’s best friend, the drug dealer is having none of it. Even though the jock laughs in the drug dealer’s face and calls him “half-a-retard”, you can tell he’s spooked.
We’re so used to seeing the tall popular jock get his way by beating and blackmailing others, that to see this “half-a-retard” threaten him had me cheering from the couch.
Obviously dialogue on these shows is not meant to be over-analyzed or taken too literally, but what exactly is “half-a-retard”? I interpret it as someone who is roughly half way between average (IQ 100) and “retarded” (IQ below 70) intelligence, or someone who would score below 70 on only half the Wechsler scale (i.e. either the verbal half or the non-verbal half, but not both).

This comes into what I call the “masterrace paradox”. Namely some superior traits can weaken the tribe or strengthen others without the trait. Empathy is a obvious example. The paradox is that becoming the enemy “leads to the best result” but can’t happen because you become the enemy. The pattern is that people to divergent from the tribe get exterminated, so only evil groups that are slightly worse survive. And then there’s conflict to solve that the slightly more cruel group accumulates resources becuase of the paradox not beholding it. Pumpkin, how come after I did number span a ton of times, my letter span was the same score? My anxiety was pretty low when I did the letter span. I did it again some 5 months later or so, got a somewhat low score- my brain was in my normal state of being extremely foggy. Same with the coding subtest, I did it 3 times, the first time I was very anxious, the second time less anxious, and the third time not anxious whatsoever. The scores were an SD apart! What explains this? Even in normal settings, my brain is generally extremely cloudy, it only becomes clear when I’m madly obsessed with something, or when I have no anxiety.

I don’t think Italians are smart at all, but have the highest testosterone and are very aggressive. Irish on other hand have the highest verbal IQs and head sizes in terms of people of European ancestry. They have a lot of wit and comprehension ability of the English language. Plus, they went through a lot of selective pressures when coming to America and afterwards, so that probably made them smart as well.

I’m not going to give you a source for what is clearly an opinion, RR. You’re one gullible guy to believe everything that comes from a scientific journal and not critically think for yourself about how the world works. Why not use the time you take to read and make judgments about the world for yourself.
But actually, people should be more like RR. I actually do believe that scientists and academics have the most credibility in their fields, so they must be listened to and understood. However, you also need to always have a healthy skepticism for what people tell you. That’s the only way to make progress because if you believe everything authority tells you then you’ll never be able to access the vast amount of knowledge that remains untapped.
That being said, yes, RR, Italians are meatheads. Don’t know the science behind why, but they just are. Probably have the best muscle-building genetics on average in the world, but can’t seem to really get beyond promoting their own agenda and understanding other cultures.

Everyone here has an agenda to promote their own kind. Very disheartening. You would think intelligence would lead people to want to, or at least being able to, understand others. Unfortunately, it does just the opposite.
Highly-intelligent people usually can’t understand the point of view of others because their understanding of the world takes precedence over any other person’s. However, they can empathize with concepts and gain understanding with things that are separate from human experiences. As soon as someone invests their own emotions into what they’re talking about, intelligent people lose all credibility into understanding what you’re saying. They’ll believe it in a superficial way or believe that you believe it, but will never hundred percent give their mind room to actually understand where you’re coming from.
On top of that, intelligent people are literal-minded. They’re limited in thinking outside of rigid thought. Dumb people have very plastic minds while smart people kind of have very cemented understandings of the world, taking a lot to change them. That’s why unique experiences to an intelligent person have so much more of an impact than to a less intelligent person. However, intelligent people can have a wider understanding of what their experiences meant and what they gave insight into. Dumber people will always be easily imprinted on by their experiences but not all experiences matter to them the same way that it would for an intelligent person.
The final thing I’d probably say is that intelligent people have such troubled lives is because they let their experiences control them. They don’t detach themselves and think that others’ experiences hold as much weight to them as their own. So they have an inflated sense of confidence in what they believe. This can hinder them tremendously because they can’t learn from the experiences of others and instead always have to experience it themselves, causing them to get into troubling situations. Now why that happens is open to debate, but I think intelligent people are full of skepticism and until they can verify it, they won’t believe it.
So that’s just my musings on what the struggles of being intelligent are.

I wish I was dumb. I wish I didn’t aspire to be more than what I can’t. I wish I could be easily assumed and contented by things, and not have to think far beyond my means. I agree that perception of beauty has large and in some cases total environmental determination. Some enviromental things seem very hard to change, sometimes large and sometimes small in effect. For instance prefering young people has to do with environment in my opinion, but changing the societal value of young people and making the developing brain not spend time with young/younger people makes it almost impossible for the majority of people to authentically love old people in a normal way. I wonder if the same is true for different populations, maybe.

If you really are the true Masaman, you should probably rethink your video on japanese origins. It seems like its more complex than just yayoi and jomon people being the unmixed ancestors of the japanese, but that both of these populations (or atlseast the Jomon) were mixed race and that several other populations migrated to japan. For instance Ainu people have been found to have much altaic/mongol/turkic/siberian/arctic ancestry. And similarities between jomon and koreans have been found. And yayoi might have been the ancestors of koreans (atleast south koreans) by looking at differences at haplotype and skull shape. And There is evidence of Jomon having no denisovan admixture. And some populations in southern japan are much lower in height, indicating ancestry from south east asia, or maybe pre-Han expansion south chinese (possibly similar to modern day south east asians, or maybe the negritos), which some posit japan to have ancestry from.

This book Im reading about Teddy Roosevelt and Taft is brilliant. Teddy reminds me a bit of trump in some ways. Although Trump himself, says hes more like Andrew Jackson.
In terms of policy though Roosevelt and Trump were opposites, although its not mention what Roosevelt stance on immigration is. The US was pretty much open borders then as there was still a lot of land to settle out west.
