I’ve always wondered about the correlation between IQ and media preferences. If you asked someone what their 10 favorite movies are and then scored them based on sophistication, the scores would probably be positively correlated with IQ, though I doubt the correlation would be more than +0.5 since some smart people like dumb entertainment (The Jerry Springer show was popular among Oxford students) and a lot of other factors like nostalgia play a role.
You can probably infer a lot of other things from the top 10 list beyond just IQ, such as personality and even psychiatric conditions like autism, depression and schizophrenia.
Here’s my own top ten list:
1. Halloween (1978)
2. Friday the 13th (1980)
3. Carrie (1976)
4. The Sweet Hereafter (1997)
5. American Beauty (1999)
6. Silent Night Deadly Night (1984)
7. 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
8. Creepshow (1982)
9. Quest for Fire (1981)
10. The Breakfast Club (1985)
Not really a fan of movies but I saw It in theaters and I thought it was solid. And I’m going to see 2001 when it comes out too. I mostly like sci-fi (movies, stories, books, video games).
when it comes out?
Damn it I thought it was being re-released throughout the country. Only select cities. Hope I get it.
1. Matrix Trilogy
2. The Animatrix
3. I Robot
4. Sailor Moon R the Movie: Promise of the Rose
5. Spirited away
6. Digimon: The Movie
7. Ghost in the shell
8. Transformer 2
9. Pokemon the movie 2000
10. Pokemon the first movie
You can probably infer a lot of other things from the top 10 list beyond just IQ, such as personality and even psychiatric conditions like autism, depression and schizophrenia.
Inference would take some skill and intelligence. I cannot do it.
But I wonder what can be inferred about me. I was born in 1987.
“Inference would take some skill and intelligence. I cannot do it.”
Not with that attitude.
Self-fulfilling prophecies are real.
To be very honest, all of these are movies I enjoyed in my early teen years. Now that I’m grown up, only Matrix, I, Robot and Spirited Away I could see myself watching again. Especially Spirited Away and other Studio Ghibli masterpieces, I love the aesthetics.
Agree with Afro, I enjoyed all those movies as a kid but they’re garbage/unwatchable as an adult. I could watch Spirited Away and Ghibli films again if someone else wanted to because they’re incredibly well made and there’s a lot to learn from them, but I wouldn’t do so of my own accord.
1. The Prince of Egypt
2. The Time Machine (2002)
3. Mission to Mars (2002)
4. Star Trek Insurrection Trailer
5. Pocahontas
This list would make me think the person had a fairly low IQ.
Four of my picks probably show high IQ: sweet hereafter,2001, Quest for fire & American Beauty
Not sure if any imply low IQ but more research is needed
I liked creepshow a lot as a kid. The story with the bugs overwhelming the OCD freak was great stuff.
I probably watched more horror than any other person as a kid. It was my favourite genre. Horror had a golden age in the 80s.
This was very memorable. First time I saw a black guy as a bad guy in a movie hahaa. I didn’t care or notice race at all much as a kid.
This movie scared the fuckin beejaysus out of me. The bit where they guy goes into this nice old womans house for tea and her face screws up and she lunges at him made me piss myself almost. Or the way it would be the middle of the day and you’d still be frightened to see him waving across the street. Such a weird movie.
The hair is standing on my neck watching that trailer. They won’t make horrors that good again. Haven’t seen the remake.
Just the way in the middle of the day in a normal setting you could be freaked out.
The remake is so damn good. I’ve not seen the original though.
Hellraiser was very good. Think there was 4 or 5 of them.
I think Robin Hanson at Overcoming Bias has written about the genetic overlaps between IQ, personality, and media preferences. That they overlap substantially shouldn’t be a shock to anyone (or at least no one here).
Link?
Go do a search at his blog. He’s done numerous posts about it.
Sophisticated people like cinéma d’auteur
Oh please! Your top ten is violent interracial porn with Kim Kardashian 🙂
lol, almost.
Most movies I’ve seen were romantic comedies or dramas and I ended up enjoying them. Blame it on the girls.
In no particular order and leaving out the most unkown one I love and with a preference for the before 1970 one, and not limiting myself to 10, because there is no ranking movie in my mind :
Naked lunch. A History of violence. Cronenberg.
Melancholia Lars von Trier
Dies Irae. Dreyer
E la nave va. Fellini
The baby of Macon. The draughtman’s contract. Greenaway.

I love wings of desir and Paris Texas
You can probably infer a lot of other things from the top 10 list beyond just IQ, such as personality and even psychiatric conditions like autism, depression and schizophrenia.
Here’s my own top ten list:
I infer that you’re a prepubescent man-child who hasn’t updated his software since the 90s. I can’t tell what your “Intelligence Quotient” is but your Incel Quotient is about 170.
I do like a lot of new movies but i have a special love for films i saw as a kid. And the 1980s was the golden age for horror.
Horror is trash as a whole. The gory styles of Tarantino and Hitchcock have real artistic value, but those movies on your list are trash.
“Ai infair zat you’ré a prépubescént man-child who ‘asn’t updated ‘is software since le 90s. Ai can’t tell what yur “Intéllijence Quotient” eez but yur Incél Quotient eez abut 170.”
Why so aggressive Afro? [rest of comment redacted by pp, may 30, 2018]
I’m not aggressive. Sorry if my opinions hurt your feelings.
PP is a [redacted by pp, may 30, 2018], whenever I say something mildly hurtful he redacts it but allows Afro to post as many aggressive comments as he desires.
Aggressive comments are sometimes okay as long as they’re not too racist. Some of your comments are both.
I’m not actually racist though, I just seek out the most maximum hurtful things to say about Afro and given his entire identity as an individual revolves around race and women it makes most sense to attack him on these points.
I understand but it hurts a lot of other people in the process and that’s not cool.
He’s only hurting himself.
“I understand but it hurts a lot of other people in the process and that’s not cool.”
Hahahaha. Good old puppy.
Pp psychology is so simpleton…
Cultural sophistication correlates with basically two cognitive profiles:
– higher verbal IQ
[humanities]
– higher general IQ
[ medicine, for example]
and within stem:
– more engineering-like you’re more scientific-based movies you will be, on avg
– more physics [more verbal-charged] than maths you’re, more ”sophisticated’ your cultural taste will be, on avg, of course.
speculative for sure,
Santo,
how you get so smart?
I find most movies unwatchable garbage, though I can watch Ghost in the Shell and some other Anime movies like Kimi no Na wa and mildly enjoy them. Western movies though, plots so bad I feel pain trying to watch them. Peasant entertainment. I did like Space Odyssey though. Also some obscure Brazilian films like City of God and Elite Squad 2.
my top movies:
the devils
the ruling class
clockwork orange
taxi driver
apocalypse now

thanks!
Good list. But ive only heard of half of these movies.
well, go watch the ones you havent heard of lol
There are different types of movies, different categories, it’s difficult at least to me, to create a top 10 with all of them. Each movie or artistic product have a impact on different sector of our personality. Also we have different qualitative categories. Usually, the best movies in qualitative aspects tend to have:
generally speaking, the best story, best direction and or dramatic interpretation.
Often very good actors tend to be in line with the best directors.
They, often, is quite mature-like or without be directed to avg public wich have a mental age around 16 years old, in developed countries.
Cinema is a relatively new artform and so it’s incapable of expressing ideas as fluently as other, more ancient art forms. If you have to think much about it, that’s a minus point or two — art is supposed to be visceral. Only when a piece of art is pushing the boundaries of the artform should you have to think about it, because art is context and the additional thoughts create new context.
As we know, there are a TON of movies one has to think about…at least a little…to fully appreciate them. And they don’t have to be particularly cerebral or pretentious, either. We’re talking even blockbuster level movies — which are the top 40 of movies.
The level of sophistication of movies right now where ideas can be communicated onscreen without much thought is probably…teenage graphic novel. That’s the maximum level before entertainment value starts suffering.
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Goodfellas
Chinatown
Alien
L.A. Confidential
The Nice Guys
Honorable mention for The Wicker Man, I guess.
Those movies to me are examples of movies that work and are about as far as you can go currently without losing entertainment value.
But are those your favorite movies?
They’re my MVP movies. They score high in all the areas that make for a good movie.
None of them hits it out of the park in any particular area, though.
A good movie is (1) very entertaining — no breaks in being entertained, no thought (2) gives you something after the movie to mentally chew on (3) one you can watch over and over again.
A movie like AntiChrist (great horror movie IMO) scores pretty high on 1, high on 2, but I don’t really get an urge to watch it over and over again.
Usually the amount of (2) that works best for a movie is just to be struck with a different worldview, rather than trying to delve into what x or y means or whatever. Because while that makes (2) more fun, it just means that (1) suffered during the movie, more likely than not.
I don’t need to delve too deeply into symbolism in Chinatown, but it’s interesting to consider the paranoid viewpoint.
What about A Bronx Tale?
Not bad but pretty derivative.
Just watched LA Confidential and was trying to find Chinatown on a streaming service, to no avail. been on a film noir kick lately.
Oh yeah…I like Forrest Gump, too. That’s how you successfully critique liberals, right there.
you all have low IQs.
even me?
Specially Ilumikitty..
Even Afro makes sense in his own hack way.
My IQ is 69. That’s why muggy and pumpkin can’t quit me.
did you volunteer for the bgi?
”did you volunteer for the bgi?” = ”only-score higher in iq tests and use as self propaganda” = / = be smarter = have some creative or intelectual or scientific achievement = be wiser or philosopher..
only-score higher in iq tests
Sadly he didn’t even do that. He scored high on college admission tests yet still managed to avoid a good college 🙂
Was he a voluntary or someone call him to be ”bgi voluntary”**
swank would have listed The Thin Blue Line if he knew anything.
That is a good movie, but……
I don’t really want to watch it again.
So by my criteria it just doesn’t meet the cut.
We can agree on it being good, though.
looking at lists one movie afro might watch and report on is Beau Travail. it’s about the foreign legion, the only non-gay frenchmen. except it might be about gayness. i’m not sure.
I ve seen it and found it boring . Claire Simon is not Le i Riefenstahl !
Btw is by very far the best city on earth to watch movies. Both in terms of quality and variety, but also on price. There is no other place for cinephile. Second, but far behind, is New York Manhattan. And then, there is nothing …
The best critics are all working in the USA. New Yorker and New York Times ,Washington Post and LA Times. Into the 50, the best critics were French : Cahiers du cinema and Positif.
Paris .
the sight & sound bfi 100 has only 4 movies from the 90s, none of which i’ve seen.
it’s notin my top 10, but in terms of its cultural impact, references to it, Goodfellas is the best of the 90s.
Rolling Stone gives it #1. https://www.rollingstone.com/movies/lists/the-100-greatest-movies-of-the-90s-w486390
on channel 4’s list it’s #10 of all time.
i have a very objective definition of greatness in film…would you watch it a second time? how many times?
the great work of art can’t be consumed. it is the cake one can eat and have…eat again and again.
best theatrical drama post 2000 is Little Children.
best of the 80s…
The Blues Brothers 1980
American Gigolo
The Thin Blue Line
Brideshead Revisited
The Right Stuff
best film in all categories of the 90s is The Civil War.
Oh it’s embarrassing that I missed the Blues Brothers.
the quality of pop music and movies coincides with the gini coefficient.
less inequality in the US and UK meant superior art.
Interesting correlation! Even though I can think of alternative theories.
I have low emotional stability, that lowers my intelligence.
I lack internal cognitive processing, that lowers my intelligence.
I understand certain ideas, I try to find complete concise concepts.
I can work with certain patterns to solve problems.
I am slow but careful.
I cannot manipulate much mentally,
And the lack internal process means I miss a lot. (can’t think in real time)
Slow real time thinking
MAY 30, 2018 / ILLUMINATICATBLOG / EDIT
I do not think in real time.
Some can think at the same time they see a movie.
I cannot see my thoughts so they are mostly low-resolution outlines.
Working thing out in my head is just slow.
I can still keep track of the logical order and reasoning of a discussion.
I know what people have said and what makes sense, I keep track of whats said.
I just can’t go as fast as normal.
I go faster when I know something.
But thinking something new makes me slow down tremendously.
Some think of new stuff automatically, I can’t.
Thinking new stuff fast is hard.
Thinking in real time is hard.
I cannot see/hear my thoughts.
I have trouble working things out.
Its a problem with my internal feedback mechanism.
Next time post off-topic content in the open thread please.
He has said the exact same thing 400 times. Its mindless at this point.
What is my movie IQ
mine is the lowest.
I think this is not off-topic: Some people can think and what a movie at the same time. This would affect how they make a top ten list, showing their intelligence.
whatch a movie*
Manipulating many things at once is entirely practice, Cat. Working with novel things also makes me slow down tremendously. Everyone thinks faster when they know something. Nobody can see their thoughts, I think entirely intuitively. You need to practice manipulating many things in your mind at once, I suggest learning to program. Your brain will hurt when you first start.
The PC Philosopher: Its mindless at this point.
Your right, my mind doesn’t work, so I’m mindless.
It’s hard to understand your mind doesn’t work if you’re mindless.
I try anyway.
You can have a aparent avg IQ but it show higher diversity of your taste.
I mean, IQ movie..
Fenoopy,
You can become fast at one specific thing. But then the problem is you need to start over on a whole new subject.
The point of intelligence is that you get it and the faster you get it the further ahead you’ll be.
I am 1 out of 6 when it comes to getting it, that means out of 6 people I am the slowest. This doesn’t mean I can’t get it, it means I give up sooner. I miss things.
Do you have Aphantasia Fenoopy?
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aphantasia
where’s Pumping Iron?
definitely top 10 documentaries ever.
Bigger, Stronger, Faster is a solid documentary that busts the myths of steroids being so dangerous. (They’re not, if you know what you’re doing.)
Pumping Iron is ok.
It’s strange that Ahnold’s brutal psychological warfare is not taken to be yet another example of how ‘mental fortitude’ or ‘confidence’ is part of general athletic ability.
The greatest athletes are almost NEVER the raw top dog physical talents. They only seem that way in comparison to their opponents.
Maybe it is a fundamental difference in how I see athleticism versus others. Athlete = competition. You cannot divorce athletic ability from the competition. We only say someone is strong or fit or whatever via comparison with others in our minds.
The top physical talents are a moving target in any sport because they change with the rules, NOT UNLIKE the way a fitness landscape changes.
When MJ started in the NBA, things moved slower. People relied more on being towers and power forwards and centers were the King positions. Jordan was a man behind enemy lines — the way the game was played was against him, his physical talents were NOT much of a huge advantage (he was smaller than many).
People talk about the compensatory skills he developed…and I mean, sure…they helped. But you don’t get the openings he did against the people — such as Patrick Ewing — he did without some viciousness.
Look at some of his trash talk on the court:
“I’m coming down. I’m going to dribble it between my legs twice. I’m going to pump fake and then I’m going to shoot a jumper. And then I’m going to look at you.”
“Listen man, I’m hitting everything, so I’m gonna tell you what I’m gonna do this time and see if you can stop it,” . “You know you can’t stop it. You know you can’t stop this. You can’t guard me.” Then, Jordan detailed exactly what he was going to do, saying, “I’m gonna catch it on the left elbow, and then I’m gonna drive to the left to the baseline, and then I’m gonna pull up and shoot my fadeaway.”
You got no chance today, and you never will.’
He changed the way people see the game. They changed the rules because of him.
The correlation in music might be more interesting. I read somewhere that Radiohead likers have a high average IQ. Their music is good but it’s more of an indication of the effete sad sack self-pittying mindset of modern European bourgeoisie and liberalism. These cowards revel in their weakness and loserdom.
Mary sounds like the most alt right woman on the planet.
Probably not a woman.
I’m not alt right. I just love my people and my people’s civilization and think it’s a shame we’re throwing it in the garbage. Especially when it’s clear other groups are more cynically minded. Has nothing to do with left or right. I naturally mean more leftwards actually.
And that’s just one of our problems. Then we have the ramifications of technology which I think are horrible to any sane person who’s thought about it (ie. not autistic technologists).
There’s nothing to be optimistic about.
Sorry for the rant.
Agree.
I like slightly Radiohead because the melody. i read somewhere that higher iq people tend to prefer instrumental over vocal music. A lot of highly intelligent people become permanently existentially depressed or melancholic, it’s part of our emotional maturation process. I bet Radiohead and 90’s english band as The Blur and The Verve correlates both with higher cognitive skill and atheism.
‘higher iq people tend to prefer instrumental over vocal ‘
Yes, I heard this too. I almost exclusively listen to instrumental because vocals distract me from my work or thoughts. I find vocals extremely annoying.
best movie of all time. Only for the highest of IQs::
I used to work in a video store so I’ve watched a lot of movies. Movies I like in no particular order:
Apocalypse Now
Spartacus
Cool Hand Luke
The Elephant Man
Johnny Got His Gun
Taxi Driver
Raiders of the Lost Ark
Conan the Barbarian
Downfall
La Vie En Rose
Cinema Paradiso
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
AI
Empire of the Sun
American Graffiti
The Good, The Bad and the Ugly
Tombstone
Big Trouble in Little China
Matrix
Godfather II
Citizen Kane
Pulp Fiction
Also Training Day. Almost Shakespearan.
Everyone likes Tombstone.
But…
It’s very stupid.
One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest
Hahaha! Something you can relate to.
That movie is great.
I was thinking about why I like movies so much (even if I can keep any picture in my memories) and not videos and so many people I know are quite the opposite. I would say that it’s linked to the main trait. If you are an extrovert/introvert, your main motivation in life is social success.
In a conference, Peterson said he didn’t understand why introverts seems to be attracted by fantasy and video games. The explanation is that extroverts go for it in real, but Introverts, have the same motivation, but as they fear social life, go for it in virtuality.
That’s why they like fantasy super hero. That explains the super power of characters in manga and most japanese cartoons that attracts them. But they naturally prefers videos that allow them to act (Kitty would be a very good instanciation of this kind of motivation, social success for introverts).
For me, my main trait is – I believe – openness, the “new experience” component and the “new ideas” one. I believe those two components can also bi divided into “abstract” and “real” motivations.
Movies allow to discover others points of view and get new ideas and experiences for cheap and in particual “film d’auteur” and experimental movies.
I believe that there’s no REAL such thing as an introvert/extrovert dichotomy.
I think this is all a byproduct of industrial society, and some people just don’t take well to socializing in a world such as this one.
They see the people next to them, and they’re aware that they’re not their blood, so they have reservations about communicating/don’t even want to start. They don’t get pleasure from doing so, so they refrain because they’re more aware that the person they’re speaking to looks nothing like them. This effect might increase with intelligence.
This may be why there’s a general thought that intelligent people are selective as to who they’re attracted toward. Their brains may be wired tighter than the average person’s. I can only think like this because I’m mixed-raced, and I’ve gone the entirety of my life without feeling involuntary attraction due to racial isolation. Back in school, people thought I was a homosexual because I wasn’t attracted to the women around me, and it’s probably because I wasn’t brain-dead.
You find people that are introverted, and you also find that they’re more prone to mental illness as they’re all fish out of water. Did you know most mass-shooters are racially isolated and described as “reserved, introverted”?
Huh. Strange that you’d mention that, I’m also mixed-race and I have nearly zero attraction to the women around me either.

Not sure what the difference is. Proportions of the face I believe, I find round or block-heads to be completely unattractive and a massive turnoff. I’m sure the video-game character is objectively more attractive than Amelia Clarke given impossibly perfect features can be achieved.
As for communicating with blood, not really. I certainly communicate with my family a lot more than strangers, but I feel no more inclined to communicate with my family than I do strangers. I’m cold-blooded and non-communicative one way or another, I have no time to waste talking where it isn’t necessary. Waste of effort. The only time I do communicate with my family is when discussing ideas.
I think you put too much worth in the idea of being ‘racially isolated’. Certainly, being mixed-race is a lonely experience but ‘racial isolation’ matters very little.
What’s your ethnic background ?
With Extraverts, they absorb the outside reality like a sponge seeking to engage with it and make it what they want (4 types of extroverts exist) Introvert internalize so when dealing with everything it is always the self that is involved with everything. Extraverts see everything as separate from themselves and want to change it or comprehend it. Introverts when they change things or observe things, it changes part of themselves.
Fantasy changes the introverts self.
Extroverts don’t get impacted in that way,
it is just events no personal meaning.
Introversion is personal and Dominate introverted types are affected most.
Every person has two Extroverted functions and two Introverted functions.
But the first function makes you introverted or extroverted.
My favorite movie.
Afro, who is mentally retarded, probably likes Selma and Hidden Figures and other jewish la la land bollocks.
Afro probably thought Mystique, Robanda and Precious saving NASA was a documentary.
Lol, shut up, you’re nothing more than decaying anthropomorphic filth.
Psychosis is an abnormal condition of the mind that results in difficulties telling what is real and what is not.[4] Symptoms may include false beliefs and seeing or hearing things that others do not see or hear.[4] Other symptoms may include incoherent speech and behavior that is inappropriate for the situation.[4] There may also be sleep problems, social withdrawal, lack of motivation, and difficulties carrying out daily activities.[4]
Get on your pills.
Was it a documentary Afro?
where’s Black Patrol?
afro is psychotic.
Afros top 10:
1. Big Mommas House
2. Big Mommas House 2
3. Big Mommas House: The Prequel
3. Hidden Figures
4. Selma
5. Any Tyler Perry movie
6. Moonlight (personal significance)
7. 4000 years a slave
8. Django Unchained
9. Blackula
10 Snow Dogs
My dream movie would tell the story of the son of a retard and a psychiatrist who would grow up to wear high heels, use fake tan, get fired 15 times, get blacklisted by his country’s psychiatrists and be a pathetic basement-dwelling racist. The most poignant scenes would depict him getting butthurt by a handsome, successful and smart black man making fun of him on the internet. I’d entitle this movie A Failed Abortion.
My dream movie would tell the story of the son of a retard and a psychiatrist
Autocorrect fail: the son of a retard and a psychopath.
125 isn’t smart tho afro
the premiss of blackpatrol is white female cops forcing black perps to do them.
handsome, successful and smart…
should’ve been…
narcissistic, affirmative action haitian orphan.
There’s no affirmative action in France and I have a big loving family. Try again.
As for the narcissism, you’d be worse if you only had a thousandth of what I’ve got.
“My dream movie would tell the story of the son of a retard and a psychiatrist who would grow up to wear high heels, use fake tan, get fired 15 times, get blacklisted by his country’s psychiatrists and be a pathetic basement-dwelling racist.”

AFRO
Don’t worry son, I’d stick to the true story as much as possible. The main issue would be to find a human actor, so I’d borrow Gollum from The Lord Of the Rings’ producers.
Except from that, your schizophrenic drivel would be accurately transcribed, including your beloved phrases such as “magic negro” and “high IQ psychopath”, “everybody knows I’m right deep down”. The movie would feature interviews with your 15 ex-employers and countless number of psychiatrists.
The other prominent themes would be your virginity and your sexual frustration as well as your miserable testosterone level. These would be highlighted by scenes where you lose your mind to billboards featuring a black male model in underwear holding the woman of your dreams under his arm: “Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy?????? It’s always magic negroes!!!!!!!!!! It’s all the Jooooooooooos’ faaaaaaaaaaaault”, the schizo screamed in despair. The gym scenes would be added for a humorous purpose, they’d feature you walking in with your high heels and your emaciated body in a tank top making yourself the whole club’s laughing stock by failing to lift weights as light as 50kg.
That’d be a trilogy:
1st episode: A Failed Abortion – Growing up in the Cuckoos Nest
2nd episode: A Failed Abortion – A struggle of a life
3rd episode: A Failed Abortion – Awaiting death
In Selma, the woman bravely refuses to go to the back of the bus. I was very touched by this scene. It shows the amount of evil and racism we have overcome together.
I think this is kind of a silly post.
I don’t think you’re going to find much of a correlation because anyone can watch a movie and enjoy it, and people that like esoteric films are people that have more free-time/less of a social life, live in developed countries, etc. There are people that are mentally handicapped that can appreciate good cinema.
I think you’re going to find a positive correlation for cult classics, widely praised films, etc because the people watching those films are likely to be educated/have easier lives with superior nutrition, not because they’re necessarily more intelligent.
Apparently Stephen Hawking loved Rod Stewart, so I doubt there’s any real connection between media preference and intelligence. Preference is more likely a product of personality, biology, and experience than raw intelligence.
My father is 60% Anglo-saxon, and he displays the typical Anglo pickiness when it comes to what food he’ll eat. He only wants to eat bland food despite having no connection with the British empire (See British cuisine).
I DIDNT MAKE THIS UP. THIS IS THE WIKI SUMMARY OF THE BUTLER.
In 2009, an elderly Cecil Gaines recounts his life story while waiting at the White House to meet the newly inaugurated president.
In 1926, at the age of seven, Gaines is raised on a cotton plantation in Macon, Georgia. When the farm’s owner rapes Cecil’s mother, Cecil’s father confronts him and is killed. Cecil is taken in by the estate’s caretaker, who trains Cecil as a house servant.
In 1937, at age eighteen, Cecil leaves the plantation. Desperately hungry, he breaks into a hotel pastry shop. The elderly master servant, Maynard, takes pity on Cecil and gives him a job. Cecil learns advanced serving and interpersonal skills from Maynard, who later recommends Cecil for a position in a Washington, D.C. hotel. While working there, Cecil meets and marries Gloria, and the couple has two sons: Louis and Charlie. In 1957, Cecil is hired by the White House during Dwight D. Eisenhower’s administration. White House maître d’hôtel Freddie Fallows introduces Cecil to head butler Carter Wilson and co-worker James Holloway. Cecil witnesses Eisenhower’s reluctance to use troops to enforce school desegregation, then his resolve to uphold the law by racially integrating Little Rock Central High School in Arkansas.
Louis, the elder son, becomes a university student at Fisk University in Tennessee, although Cecil feels that the South is too volatile. Louis joins a student program led by Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC) activist James Lawson, which leads to a nonviolent sit-in at a segregated diner, where he is arrested. Gloria, who feels that Cecil puts his job ahead of her, descends into alcoholism.
In 1961, after John F. Kennedy’s inauguration, Louis and others are attacked by members of the Ku Klux Klan while on a freedom ride to Birmingham, Alabama. Louis participates in the 1963 Birmingham Children’s Crusade, where dogs and water cannons are used to stop the marchers, one of the movement’s actions which inspires Kennedy to deliver a national address proposing the Civil Rights Act of 1964. Kennedy is later assassinated. His successor, Lyndon B. Johnson, enacts the legislation. As a goodwill gesture, Jackie Kennedy gives Cecil one of the former president’s neckties.
Louis participates in the 1965 Selma Voting Rights Movement, which inspires Johnson to demand that Congress enact the landmark Voting Rights Act of 1965. Johnson also gives Cecil a tie bar.
In the late 1960s, after civil rights activist Martin Luther King, Jr.’s assassination, Louis tells his family that he has joined the Black Panthers. Cecil orders Louis and his girlfriend to leave his house. Louis is arrested again. Cecil becomes aware of President Richard Nixon’s plans to suppress the Black Panthers.
Charlie confides to Louis that he plans to join the war in Vietnam. After enlisting, Charlie is killed and buried at Arlington National Cemetery. When the Black Panthers resort to violence, Louis leaves the organization and returns to college, earning his master’s degree in political science and eventually running for a seat in Congress, although Cecil continues to hold resentment against him.
Cecil repeatedly confronts his supervisor at the White House over the unequal pay and career advancement provided to the black White House staff. With President Ronald Reagan’s support, Cecil prevails, his reputation growing to the point that he and his wife are invited by the Reagans to be guests at a state dinner. Cecil becomes uncomfortable with the class divisions in the White House. After witnessing Reagan’s refusal to support economic sanctions against Apartheid South Africa, Cecil resigns.
Gloria agitates for Cecil to mend his relationship with Louis. Realizing his son’s actions are heroic, Cecil joins Louis at a protest against South African apartheid; they are arrested and jailed together.
In 2008, Gloria dies shortly before Barack Obama is elected as the nation’s first African-American president. Two months, two weeks and one day later, Cecil prepares to meet the newly inaugurated President, wearing the articles he received from Kennedy and Johnson. Stephen W. Rochon approaches Cecil and tells him the president is ready, preparing to show him the way to the Oval Office. Cecil tells him that he knows the way.
SERIOUSLY. I DIDNT MAKE THIS UP. CHECK THE WIKI.
I think you have to have a sub 80 IQ to enjoy jewish magic negro movies being blunt. That story could have been written by a 14 year old.
I realise now it probably was. Released by Harvey Weinstein.
My own personal favourite magic negro movie is the Green Mile. Its actually a good film. I felt sad when they killed the magic negro. No joke.
I love magic negro movies.
I just want to escape from reality and love a magic negro.
clarence thomas like Big Mama Jama. he was seen exiting a theater where it was playing.

I watched 14000 years a slave a few years ago in the cinema. My buddy thought the movie was boring. I thought the movie was kind of extreme. They had that guy whip the black woman. The main actor in it is pretty bad. He can barely act. When the slave master was whipping him I thought he was going to burst out laughing.
Then there was Brad Pitt who funnily enough was kind of a reverse magic negro in the movie. “Why son, up in Canada, we all drink the same wata and eat the same grub”.
It was pretty long and the story wasn’t really a story. In any case, the movie did well at the Oscars for being a ‘horrible reminder of the sins of slavery, goyim”.
A lot of these oscar bait pokemon movies are pretty dull with meandering stories.
^^^delete that shit.^^^

David Lynch does great movies. Mulholland Drive I really liked before the main actress had a mental breakdown. If they had just done it as a straight struggling actress movie it would have been a certain classic. Lynch likes to get psychological.
He directed the elephant man, and in the movie he shows you elephant mans dreams. I thought it was fascinating and sad. Elephant man is truly a great movie. Just truly remarkable in all facets.
The only other Lynch movie I’ve seen is Blue Velvet which is very weird. I didn’t really like it. I don’t remember much from it except Dennis Hopper’s odd character.
Midnight Cowboy is another classic. That was really good.
i’m serious.
if peepee wants me to keep commenting she will need to find someone to give me his liver.
IMO you maybe can’t tell a lot about someones IQ from their movie list, but a lot about their personality.
As we can see from Afro’s list about, Afro is mentally retarded.
Not joking but Mel Gibson really is a great director. Braveheart, Patriot and Apocalypto are great popcorn movies.
I thought the passion as a religious movie was a lot less boring than 14000 years a slave, another religious movie.
Gibson also directed the Man Without a Face and Hacksaw Ridge which my dad said was one of the best war movies he’d ever seen. I agree. Its brilliant.
Man without a face is a much more sentimental character piece which I also really liked. With Mel youre guaranteed an 8/10 movie becuase hes a genius.
Most of the movies today are for people with the minds of 15 year olds.
Breaking In is about a magic negro who is under a home invasion by KKK members hahahahah . I hope this actually raises more interest in the issue of home invasions as people would then be red pilled a bit more.
I bet Hollywood will literally do a movie about a black man with superpowers like seeing racists through walls and being able to do calculus.
When Afro was in math class he said the textbook was racist for not having enough ‘authentic diversity’ in it. Hahaha. Good old Afro. Always pulling my leg.
Tombstone is great. Well acted. Good story. Very entertaining with great lines and my other favourite actor, Kurt Russell is in it. Val Kilmer has his greatest ever performance as Holliday. I mean, he should have won the Oscar for that.
It just great. There are a lot of fun movies that are great like Raiders of the Lost Ark or Starship Troopers that don;’t try to ‘say something about the human condition’ or promote pokemon.
A movie that would be pretty high IQ would be a story attempting to portray a person who is right about being a racist and how this marginalises him and whether the truth is more important than just fitting in and having a lobotomy. They should have Mel Gibson play the lead role as an alcoholic but artistic genius who’s way of thinking makes him see true but appear ‘immoral’ to the rubes. And the conflict would appear within his own family as certain family members go to Berkely and get brainwashed.
You could do something similar set in the 15th century about Galileo. But I suspect you’d have a Terry Tao type performance from someone like Benedict Cumberpatch were Galileo is an autist who stumbled onto the truth and is conflicted about his faith and his science. Galileo is probably one of the most important cases of moral philosophy in human history because it shows that morality is not reconcilable with the truth always and if you accept that, youll still feel odd and ‘hollowed out’ as youre on the frontier mentally at that point. The question then becomes whether the truth is moral. This is something Richard Nixon brings up in his videotapes talking about blacks.
Nixon has the opposite conclusion to me on this issue. Although I respect him. I actually think Nixon, despite being a paranoid maniac, was a great man. The movie Frost/Nixon shows it well. Hes the most complex president probably since Lincoln.
‘And yet it moves’. Very poignant.
One of the reasons autists are considered to be retarded and not ‘mad’ is the fact they have none of the instincts about people I have (in extreme). This is to say, that their naivete is not seen as a positive. The fact people can’t extrapolate that to themselves about ‘racism’ and ‘homophobia’ and ‘diversity’ and ‘islamaphobia’ is sad.
As the autist is seen as retarded about human nature, the normie to me is also bumbling along. You have to feel it. You can’t explain the instinct at the end of the day to someone with no instinct.
Steven Spielberg usually makes great movies. I think because he does some of the older blockbusters like Jaws and Jurassic Park he gets unfairly maligned as an airhead.
But Empire of the Sun and AI are pretty moving and deep works of art.
Spielberg also got involved in trying to revive the twilight zone. He knows its the best tv show of all time. It has to be. Its JL Borges come to screen.
