Where’s the bartender?
The other night I walked into a bar and there was no bartender in site to serve me. Then a slightly overweight blond young woman stood up to go to the ladies room.
“I thought you were the bartender,” I told her, “cause you stood up just as I entered, I thought you were gona get me a drink”
“And I’m blonde too” she added with a laugh.
At the time I thought she meant blonds are sexy and thus more likely to get hired as bartender, so was flattered that I thought she was the bartender.
Then the actual bartender appeared: She was a 300 lb blond woman…
Friday the 13th
So Friday was Friday the 13th so naturally I went out to celebrate. But sadly a lot of men seem to get off on being very abusive to women. I saw a drunk white guy being abusive towards an arctic woman. He had told her she had no choice but to stay at his apartment because no one else wanted her and then took her iphone and through it in the snow.
A bunch of us were watching from the window inside the bar, debating what to do, when finally I said “I’ll go talk to him.”
“No don’t do that” warned a co-worker. “He’s psycho”
“I smiled,” and like Mrs Voorhees from the original Friday the 13th, I replied, “I’m not afraid.”
When I went out there, I asked the arctic woman, “Is he bothering you?”
When she said “yes” I decided to pull the Dr. Huxtable father-figure shtick, even though he was only about five years younger than me (that’s how drunk I was).
“Son, I think you have a problem,” I told him gently, not wanting to anger someone so aggressive. “And you need to talk someone about it. Maybe talk to a friend or councillor of some kind. And if none of them that works, you can always come here,” I said, referring to the bar.

Talks about how there are no jobs for people below 85 IQ and claims even a lot of lawyers will be out of work soon.
Most interesting thing he says is that people below IQ 80 take tens of hours to learn how to do a job most of his psychology students could learn in 10 minutes. This is consistent with the theory once proposed by a member of Prometheus that complex learning/problem solving speed doubles every 5 or 10 IQ points.
On the other hand, why does research show that total vocabulary is normally distributed? High verbal IQ people don’t have vocabs orders of magnitude greater than low verbal IQ people. Maybe there just aren’t enough common words for such a pattern to emerge?

Ben Bernanke wrote a letter saying we (the Fed) caused the Great Depression and total hacks like Larry Kudlow and Steven Moore jumped on it to say the government caused the great depression.
I think Larry Kudlow also said the 2008 crisis was caused by the government.
I bet larry kudlow would blame the bubonic plague in the 15th century on US government regulations.
As that documentary Inside Job pointed out – when you are paid to say something, youre going to say it no matter how ridiculous or how many kids you brainwash. Theres a good interview with Glen Hubbard saying financial deregulation is great and then a payment from a few banks and industry groups is mentioned on screen.
I believe in financial regulation for the same reasons more or less that I’m wary of jews in general in other aspects of life.
It is quite amazing to realise the whole jewish conspiracy rests on their control of the financial system. The financial system is one of those things talked about in every newspaper but is so little understood. Even I was a banker and financial regulator and a consultant and am not sure if they’re printing funny money to offshore trusts.
Jews control the government and all the banks so youre screwed no matter what.
All these commenters and PP are like strange, wacky characters out of a movie, each with their own weird quirks and background. Life is a meme. It’s like an author wrote you all.
Kinda sad. I feel no one on here has a real life. They just spend all their time in fantasy world on the Web.

I used to read books 5 hours a day. Now – since around 4 years – I read books around 3 hours and foe 2 hours , I read different papers and mostly PP and Lion site. It’s fun. This latter activity is more splitted so it’s many times 5/10 minutes. But I have no focus pb at all.
My professional career is good because I publish quite a lot in national professional papers. But it s more of making the most of time spent at it than shear ambition . I could switch to big management but I prefer freedom of expertise. I am helped by the esprit de corps of French elite graduate school that gives the beholder instant (not really deserved) prestige.
As I sleep 5/6 hours, i’ve got plenty of time for work, family and leisure outside reading .

And I don’t see any problem with Afro. Objectively in France, Afro would be seen as extremely open minded for the mere fact of accepting to discuss ideas based on race with any one. So it is really a proof of a gentle open mind you don’t find here that often ! I like Afro and Philosopher. It’s a pity that mother nature doesn’t allow them to get babies yet, maybe it would be like those beautiful people from Solomon Islands 😉

you do know that the average american spends 5 hours daily doing ‘leisure,’ with about 3 of those hours being in front of the boob tube, correct? and that this doesn’t vary that much with education, right?

I feel like my generation spends less time on the internet than my parents generation does spend watching TV. The internet is stimulative but TV turns you into a vegetable, it’s no wonder they don’t have the ability to think for themselves.

I had a nice lady on the phone working in a call center contracted by Air France . I asked her to change ticket London to Paris for a Dublin to Paris. It was 180. Just to check , I asked how much would be the ticket Dublin to Paris. 120. She wouldn’t understand it made no sense, at least for me. But she was always nice and smiley. She felt a bit stressed because she knew she wasn’t understanding everything. Her accent was not prole. Even on the posh side. That’s the reality of IQ I guess. I staid very polite with her and only told her : when it’s some expansive to change than to buy a new one, expect people to prefer not to change, and you could even check for them. She thanked me for the piece of advice . I rated her 5 out of 5 when Inreceived the évaluation e-mail.
