Lots of selection for alleles took place (IDK if that would be accounted for by emergence of SNPs). Among the various selections included things like mood, personality, temperament, blood sugar levels, odds of getting cardiovascular diseases while at a higher BMI .etc.
For example, European Neolithic people had variants for higher neuroticism, guilt, lower BMI, and somehow a higher likelihood of cardiovascular diseases at a higher BMI in comparison to European Mesolithic people. I guess the last two of those listed changes allowed them to eat more regularly with smaller breaks between meals, but they couldn’t eat as much at once.

this came from genomelink they were just calculating ancient ancestry so it was only compared to ancient relatives and not ones outside the spectrum they had.

Genomelink is probably overestimating. 25% translates to 36% Sintashta which is more than the amount found in Pashtun average. Unless you are a Pashtun or Kalash from Pakistan, 36% Sintashta equivalent is suspect.

The Yamnaya genetic height thing is fine when compared to modern populations, but older populations probably have variants that aren’t calculated by modern models. In those cases, comparing physiological height is the better method.
Physiologically, Gravettians were much taller than Yamnaya. Yamnaya are reported to be 5’9″, Gravettians are reported to be 6’0″. You could add some inches to pre-modern populations for a modern conversion, that could get Yamnaya closer to 6’0″, but it would also push Gravettians way over 6’0″.

Those calculators aren’t worth it. IDK if you paid for them, but they are a waste mostly. One will say 10% steppe pastoralist and another will say 25% Yamnaya.

What they call “steppe pastoralist” is an arbitrary breakup and mishmash of things that are real. Changing it arbitrarily makes the labels useless and the components not real. You are looking at models that are telling you that you are made of those imaginary components.
The whole utility of these things supposed to be a representation of real components. If a calculator says 25% Yamnaya and another says 10% steppe pastoralist for the same person, its worthless. You could do all of that without a calculator made by someone else.

These different ways measure different things. Think of it like this: you have 4 different grand parents. But if I sliced up their contribution to you, and mixed it up to make imaginary individuals who aren’t your grandparents, then I am not giving you an assessment of your actual ancestry.
Now complicate this by stretching it far enough to the point where distant individual contributions don’t matter as much as group proxies for them. I can take actual ancestral contributions, mutilate and chop them and then mix them together to make components that never actually existed, and give them to you as your ancestral components. Such a report would be meaningless.
As for 10% steppe pastoralist- depends on what they mean by steppe pastoralist. If it is Yamnaya, then 10% Yamnaya is too low for you if you have plenty of Pashtun ancestry (unless you are like half Pashtun and half south Indian tribal or something). If it is Sintashta, then 10% Sintashta is way too low. Even a 50% Pashtun and 50% south Indian tribal would have more than 10% Sintashta. For all I know, what they call this “steppe pastoralist” component never actually existed, and they confused different things and came up with a non-existent component.

Whats happening is if the 10% is referring to Yamnaya, then the remaining Yamnaya is being put elsewhere (overfitting) or if the 10% isn’t Yamnaya then its either a non-Yamnaya real component being mislabeled as “steppe pastoralist” (or possibly an artificial proxy for a non-Yamnaya real component) or its an imaginary component that never existed and doesn’t serve as a proxy to something real either. Either way, shitty calculation.

– most consulting firm with the same caveat. For example, in big auditors, the pure audit being very low added value and with a few number of firms, it’s extremelly hard to become Partner and the salary compared to the revenue handled is low.
So you get the money when the corporation can’t afford not to give you the money …
For the industry sector, when you have built the brand and the product, the value the most qualified employees retain is not that high, however difficult and qualified may be their jobs.
However, the amount of profit shared would be much greater though if high tech firms couldn’t go find their employees outside their native population.
I guess good computer scientists in SF would make 1,5M instead of 150k if the border had been closed during the last 30 years. Even in Switzerland or Luxembourg, salaries are twice higher as in the rest of Europe despite huge immigration employment.
As for Computerization, it doesn’t bring that much productivity in itself. But it allows to transfer human capital into real capital at the hands of owners and C-management.
