Commenter Philosopher wanted to know what I think Mug of Pee’s IQ is.
On college admission tests, Mug of Pee’s IQ equivalent is as high as 160, but on actual IQ tests like the Wechsler intelligence scale which he took at age nine, I crudely estimate Mug of Pee scored 127 (after adjusting for old norms).
Now, normally when someone has a huge achievement score > IQ score gap, they are described as overachievers, because they have learned far more than their IQ would predict. Instead of humbly accepting this label, Mug of Pee has devoted his life to denying any distinction between IQ tests and achievement tests, irrationally claiming the SAT is the best IQ test and pretentiously dismissing actual IQ tests as “soi-disant IQ tests”.
So what is his true IQ?
In order to answer this question, we must first note that IQ tests are largely considered valid to the extent that they measure g (general intelligence). g is simply whatever causes all cognitive abilities to positively correlate. The g loadings of the Wechsler and the SAT in the general U.S. population are not known, but by dividing their correlations with the Raven by the Raven’s g loading, it can be estimated that the Wechsler has a g loading of 0.94 and the SAT has a g loading of 0.68. Further, based on the fact that Dartmouth students, largely selected based on SAT scores, regressed nearly half way to the U.S. mean on the WAIS, I estimate the WAIS and SAT correlate 0.52.
Armed with these three statistics, the following regression equation can be built (hat-tip to a member of Prometheus who suggested such equations to me many years ago):
Expected g Z score = 0.8(Wechsler Z score) + 0.26(college admission test Z score)
So, since I estimate Mug of Pee has a Z score of +1.8 on the Wechsler (IQ 127) and as high as +4 on college admission tests (IQ equivalent of 160), we’ll plug those values into the equation:
Expected g Z score = 0.8(1.8) + 0.26(4)
Expected g Z score = 1.44 + 1.04
Expected g Z score = 2.48
So on a hypothetically perfect measure of psychometric g, Mug of Pee would be expected to score 2.48 standard deviations above the U.S. mean (IQ 137). We can say with 95% certainty that his true level of g is between 129 and 145.

but I can see that measurements by test may not be accurate. g is supposed to be about my potential, that is the overall ability to do well any kind of intelligence task. The Wechsler has a small range of tasks. So g cannot be fully measured. I may be super intelligent as tasks not on the test. So the range of tasks is not measured properly.
I do believe g is real and is the ability to do well on any kind of task. A low g would mean I do poor on any kind of task. That is why it is common to think of intelligent people as good at everything. A high g simply means you’re good at everything. whether that means I have an actual g or not is no reason to call me a fucktard.

The Wechsler is specifically designed to measure intelligence and has been proven to be extremely g loaded in the general U.S. population. The SAT had only proven to be extremely g loaded in a few specific universities and based on the degree high SAT people regress to the mean on official IQ tests, is not that g loaded for Americans as a whole.

I have spent all of my post-14 life around 120-160 people with the average person being in the 140s and mugabee reminds me of a 130 IQ guy called Gregory.
I would say that his genetic IQ is higher than that but he has said that he’s on the paleo diet which is an indicator that he thinks about his nutrition. He has also mentioned that he lifts weights which is another indicator of someone who cares about his nutrition
based on that i think its fair to say that he has at least adequate nutrition and so i don’t think that his genetic IQ is higher than what we see now

I believe that more robust is a ”trait”, the more indiscriminately replicable it becomes, regardless of the type of trait.
The fundamental matter is not to think ”if intelligence IS or NOT in that way” but if this CURRENT state IS intrinsinc of intelligence nature OR if it’s a ”selective confound”.

The fact is, in a verbal and not spatial sense, each perfect or near ceiling score test would have more relevance than a 9 years old childs IQ test. The childs IQ test was meant to predict his GMAT/SAT/actuarial etc scores, not the other way around.

Actually I think jimmy is wrong on democracy. At this present time democracy is needed as it is [redacted by pp, july 23, 2017] way to usurp the desert people. It depends on how you define democracy. The free speech, freedom from imprisonment, freedom of association elements are needed. You don’t get that in other systems. All other systems tend towards feudalism. The argument was the more tests you include in the prediction, the less weight each test has, particularly if the tests are highly correlated. Some college admission tests are so highly correlated that including more adds very little new information about his intelligence.
The childs IQ test was meant to predict his GMAT/SAT/actuarial etc scores, not the other way around.
It’s not a matter of one test predicting another, but rather both tests predicting his level of g (general intelligence). The childhood test happens to be more g loaded so it ended up with more weight, though the formula did not distinguish between young adult g vs childhood g. If I specified young adult g then the formula would have given him a higher IQ.

How can wechsler have a correlation of 0.9 with g? It also has a general knowledge and vocabulary section as far as i know. These two tests test ‘knowledge’ rather than g. Growing up i was probably the best among my group of friends, with regard to these two aspects, but only average in real world intelligence.
