Pumpkin, my nine year old daughter got 5. Do you think she is fine or doomed like me? I really hope she turns out at least 110. She got extended breastfeeding. She naturally weaned off at around 4 years old. I had read that breastfeeding helps to increase the IQ of the child so I insisted my wife to breastfeed the child as long as possible.

On the old iqexam.net they had a similar series of exercises where you’d mentally add and subtract small numbers as quickly as possible, such as:
1+2+0+0-8+4+2-4=?
Like this test, you were scored on speed. Unlike this test, the difficulty curve was flat, so you were trying to do as many as possible.
As an odd side note, I took their test sober and scored 136, then took it drunk maybe a year later and scored 139 because I did much better on this “speed mental arithmetic” section.

but still, people at Mensa level that do not have the problems of Mensa (because they self select for mental problems) are somewhere at the median range between super high and average that it is not a problems for them because they usually get what they want. They have the optimum “high” level intelligence to get what they want with the least effort and can socialize with levels above and below so are not lonely or mal adjusted as much.
Intelligence I think follows a double dunning Kruger effect. it dips between (120 to 130) and (150 to 160) and peaks at 115, 145 and 175, my guess.

What IQ does is telling you what environment would be good for you. But advanced IQ tests do not exist yet that would let us know what individuals can adapt too. But 130 can adapt in the widest amount of spaces. They are the least limited.

ChatGPT performs much better on Hoeflin’s tests that it did when I tested it circa 2022. It gets the supermajority of verbal analogies right and can now solve some of the more spatial problems.
It does well on anything it’s trained on but can’t adapt to anything new. It’s dumb

ChatGPT is clearly more capable than most humans at all categories of problems on Hoeflin’s tests, if only because it offers some attempt at a solution where many people could not get started. Artificial intelligence researchers could benefit from using Hoeflin-style problems as complements to their existing math problem datasets.

LLMs are not true A.I. – the meaning of Noam Chomsky’s quote is that these systems brute force their way into looking like they have simulated intelligence when they have not.
Real A.I. would have a network structure that actually does what humans do. Problems solve through executive function and memory allocation. This requires little to none brute force training. The system would be able to learn by itself in a zero or few shot target learning in a physics simulation.
It is this simulated environment that is hardest to construct. Videogames come close. It has been known a long time how executive function works but we would need a simulated kindergarten to advance it to adult level problems solving i.e. common sense reasoning in human social environments.
As anyone who has studied the actual A.I. history knows.
The theory was done long ago and the computational power has only recently been available.
The theory doesn’t involve brute force but actual intelligence methods.
You can find supposed answers easily, but, from what I have seen, many of them are wrong, and those are just for the problems I could solve. That in mind, you might gain something from showing me your answers. I think the Hoeflin test problems that at least one large language model can solve are close to a proper subset of the ones I can solve, although I cannot solve all of them. That said, a few years ago, ChatGPT did give a better answer than I had to one of the analogies.
I believe I know every answer on the Mega Test, but I have the advantage over people who took it of search engines for the verbal analogies, and I found some answers from others. Last I checked, there is no rigorous proof for Hoeflin’s answer to the three-cubes problem, just overwhelming heuristic evidence. For the Titan and Power, there are still a few problems I am not sure of.
