I think the smartest civilization were the Ancient Greeks. The Victorians are a close second, but there’s plenty reason to believe the ancient Greeks were a uniquely intelligent people.

Yea this tracks. I think intelligence is just purposive—intentional—action and that people become intelligent by interacting with more knowledgeable others who have experience navigating that specific society. My view of intelligence and what it encompasses is strongly Vygotskyian.

you might think with enough socializing anyone can do anything and you would be hard pressed to find examples where this is true in adults because experimenting on kids this way in mass is unethical.
anyway, to do anything where a bunch of things need to be done you need to think about all of them at the same time. This means some people can do this better and some extremely better. It doesn’t matter if this was socialized into them. Astronauts do this better than 99% of people.
if you see what I am getting at its that the front brain where we have executive function is doing something different in high intelligence persons. They would be able to play complex video games others can’t and make things technologically more advanced in today’s society without having to explain to them much what they need to do.

I genuinely think I’m a very good-looking South Asian. My dad blessed me with good looks and intelligence. I’d say Melo and I more similar than distinct in our lifestyles and how things are playing out.
I say the former because I just keep getting better and better looking as time goes on. I look younger now than in my profile pic.

You may this interesting: I played professional baseball for the Milwaukee Brewers. They had a reaction time board in their spring training gym. Out of approximately 250 player in the organization (MiLB and MLB), me and another guy had the top rank for RT. We would compete against each other all spring training. I ended up sharing an apartment with the guy one season, and I can assure you he was very average, intellectually-speaking.
Congrats to yeshiva and the JIDF team. Maybe a promotion for RR coming soon.
