Secondly, the only true way to verify a just-so story is to find a common cause explanation, the reason is because finding a common cause to multiple, seemingly independent effects successfully explains any and all inconsistencies within a hypothesis. I agree some of the actors from the 50s are there basically because the studio bosses told the committee who was going to win. They’re pretty average and act themselves in movies. People like Gregory Peck aren’t particularly great.
But if you look at the rest of the list, Denzel has no business being there. Someone might say Sean Penn looks a little out of place too. I think Penn gets so many noms because he basically is reallly popular with other actors as a person.

Abrham would actually play a great robert rubin in a movie. He actually does look like a villain. I can’t ever imagine him being a good guy in a movie. Maybe he has pulled it off. If he has, he truly is one of the greats.
Good acting is acting against your stereotype. So when henry fonda played a villain in once upon a time, people were genuinely concerned with his acting.
It reminds me of professional wrestlers who can play both heel and face. Hulk hogan is without doubt one of the greatest wrestlers ever because he does both extremely well.
When I was a kid watching this, I really hated hogan. Now I look back and see he did a great job.

Rian Johnson wrote Star Wars into a corner. Movie number 8 feels like movie number 9. Which mean movie number 9 has no plot that can be imagined. Trilogies have a beginning, middle and ending. They switched the middle with the ending. Now the ending will feel like the middle or another ending. The trailer for The Last Jedi felt like number 8 would be in the middle. I liked it a lot. Better than the movie. Because it fits the archetype of a trilogies middle. Disney should have had one director for all three movies. Episode nine won’t fit the new trilogy.
