AFAIK, the US had a draft that applied to all fit and able men of a certain age, so it should be a representative sample of the male population.
But it states accountant as number 1 and PR person as number 3 so there is obviously something Im missing about the sample construct.

If I had to guess the highest IQ job, it would have to be theoretical physicist. at the Max Planck Institute or something like that in terms of sheer brainpower and bandwidth.
There’s probably no career (including theoretical physicist) that has an average IQ above 135. On the flip side, the IQ needed to do well in even cognitively undemanding fields is surprisingly high– Jordan Petersen has a Youtube video about how the U.S. military only recruits from IQ 83 and above. Linda Gottfredson said all modern careers paths (even janitors and unskilled labor) requires an IQ of about 80, or maybe 75 at the very least. One study of Czech truck drivers showed that no one below IQ 80 had long-term success.
I’m guessing software developers, actuaries and medical doctors (excluding dentists and psychiatrists) average around IQ 125. Those are the smartest fields where you don’t need a Phd.
Its easy. Go to your local library and ask the librarian for a book with all the IQs of each job in the world.
The librarian would probably lead me to the self-help section and point me to a book titled, “You can do anything [and any job] you set your mind to.”

I sympathise with Fenoopy/Afro and other Mother Africa worshippers in the sense that I totally agree african intelligence would go up if you gave all africans great nutrition, no diseases, no poverty yadda yadda. Of course games are easier. Im probably older than you fenoopy to remember playing games without any walkthroughs, cheats or internet forum help. And the games back in the days had no patching or anything if they had glitches and bugs. When they remastered crash bandicoot many people today said it was the toughest game theyd ever played….I completed that 100% with no autosaving, no guides and a lot of brute patience. Every level had to be completed in 1 perfect run to get the gem.
I agree that some of the games from the 70s and 80s were simpler. But anything on the SNES/Megadrive onward to the first PS generation is tougher than anything ive played in the last decade.

Well not ANYTHING, but a game like echo the dolphin which is a run of the mill average game on the SNES is far harder than say grand theft auto. Even the older GTAs with the camera above I find more difficult than than newer 3d GTAs.

Most modern hardcore people play multiplayers. And the gaming audience was smaller in the past, and catered to autistic people as toughness was the only characther contemporary technology could provide.

I’m 18-21 age range. You haven’t played hard games from this generation. All the games I’ve played are many times harder than anything I’ve seen in the past. I played Crash Bandicoot as a kid. Died a lot to the snowball run, but it was pretty easy compared to today’s games.

The last toughie game I remember playing on normal mode (excluding the way you can select easy mode on most modern games) is that Ninja Gaiden Sigma for the PS3. Compared to the crap I put up with in the 90s. Its user friendly.

You can see the difficulty reducing even within long existing franchises. Play Hitman 1 and compare it to absolution and come back to me. I think the newer tomb raiders are pretty straight forward compared to the early ones. Resident evil they turned into a shoot em up, because kids find abstract thinking and spatial awareness to difficult now. The remastered version now tells you what rooms you havent been in. Its ridiculous. Crash bandicoot has dynamic difficulty now in the remaster. Pretty soon theyll send ukrainian nurses to breast feed players while playing.
Im nhot saying harder is better though. I prefer games today. I was talking to my high friend the other day and I told him I thought my right brain was 80-90 and my left brain was 140-150. He did not disagree. I do feel stuck on the right side of my brain, I do think I have lateralized perceptual problems. But reading emotions and faces in not a problem I have.
