You are a human so you know humans have subjective experience. AI does not.
The AI does not have any coherence in its “mind”. Sure, humans have many subconscious processing aspects, but these also add to the coherence of our mind, whether or not we are conscious of them. What we are conscious of is always singular. For an AI, there is nowhere that consciousness is singularly concentrated. It’s spread among its parts, like any machine. While the computer unit, with various parts like the OS interacting with the CPU and the power supply and the display, all must be put in some coherent logical form that is understandable by humans, the machine itself does not possess that coherence.
It should be clear from human conscious experience that it is not simply a bunch of spacetime objects interacting in reorganizations of space and time, but with extra meaning that comes from non/extra spatial and temporal information (such as emotions or experiences of qualia).
Since the only way we have to interact with the physical world through physical means is through reorganizations of matter in spacetime, in order for any other meaning to be endowed to an AI or conscious being, it would already need to be conscious and “speak the same language” in terms of qualia or information, and we would need to be able to know how to communicate that information through space and time (physical means), unless we hoped to influence it through mere thought (which still has a spatial and temporal aspect given that it takes time and space in reality to think separate thoughts that influence identifiable separate things).
Clearly, since the way we create computers is without any hope of communicating non-spatial-temporal information to anything not already possessing it (other humans), and we have no reason to think the computer is a particularly coherent conscious entity any more than a tree or the ocean or a bicycle is, whether or not it “passes the Turing test”, we will have no way to understand it is conscious in the extra-spatial-temporal or extra-physical sense anymore than we could another human without using specific markers for consciousness in an empirical manner (even if we had proof of other conscious and intentional beings through logic, we wouldn’t know through empiricism for any particular one).

Sure, current AI is pretty simple (needs massive training sets to produce human-like effects in very narrow bands of results) but if somehow someone could take a human mind a de-evolve it so to speak, we might end up with a result that isn’t as coherent as what we have now and behaves like a modern AI. However some kind of a future AGI (like a hundred years from now or less) could have the kind of coherency that the human mind does.
On the other hand, if computation and consciousness are distinct, and current AI is still technically inferior computation-wise (needs lots of training to produce limited results) then who is to say that a computationally superior AGI can’t be run on a hardware that allows for consciousness in some ways similar to a human brain?
Even if we go with the latter scenario, the question is still about the software and not the hardware so even in the pessimistic scenario, its only a matter of time when AI becomes holistically smarter than us both computationally and consciously.

So there are two options – either the area (which was 200 yards away) wasn’t combed before and during the event (random person did it), or interests with the power to do so allowed this to happen and it was a professional hit. Is there a third option?
