I have seen what a rubrics cube is and I say it is very hard to solve by yourself. You can memorize the algorithm but that’s like memorizing IQ test questions. I can solve mensa level spatial puzzles but not the rubrics cube. Therefore I say 145 – the combinations you need to try in your head to find the algorithm is a lot. Because it is in 3D and cannot be done by trial and error.
The reason people have high or low spatial is how many parts can be tract at any given time. This requires attentional memory. Or seeing how all of them form interrelational structures.
A simple example is the perception of what will happen if you do things in specific orderings. You will see that some work and others don’t to give a desired outcome in a design.
In fact a person with high spatial intelligence are creating instructions on the fly of how parts can come together for the best design.
Keep in mind that any novel design had combinations that were unviable. Spatial working memory tries many at the same time. Process of elimination.
Even Homer Simpson when 105 can solve the rubrics cube because he didn’t have to go through all combinations. Most likely he says a video how to do it. This is also why he almost solved the higgs bosson because he had good math education. He works at a nuclear power plant.
