In South Africa, Whites average IQ 94, Indians average IQ 86, Coloureds average IQ 83, and Blacks average IQ 65. Perhaps because of malnutrition, Whites in South Africa are 6 points below their genetic IQ of 100 (i.e. the IQ they would have had if reared in the First World). By contrast, the more severe malnutrition of post-apartheid leaves Blacks scoring 15 points below their genetic IQ of 80.

I suspect that in South Africa, both Indians and Coloureds experienced similar environments (not as good as Whites, but not as bad as Blacks). And yet Indians score 3 points higher than Coloureds in South Africa. So if we knew the genetic IQ of Coloureds, we could just add 3 points to estimate the genetic IQ of Indians

We know from genetic and historical research that Coloureds are a hybridized people, for example Razib Khan writes:

These data suggest that the Cape Coloureds have a very diverse and balanced ancestry. In particular, the proportion of European, Indian, Khoisan and Bantu ancestry averaged over the group seems at rough parity, while the Malay element is less significant, but not trivial.

For the purposes of this rough analysis, I’m going to ignore the less significant Malay ancestry and assume Coloureds are 25% Congoid, 25% Capoid, 25% White, and 25% Indian.

We already know from Richard Lynn’s research that with optimum nutrition, representative samples of pure Whites and pure Congoids average IQ 100 and 80 respectively.

We don’t know the Capoid genetic potential because they’ve never been studied in a First World environment, but we know that when Congoids and Capoids are both illiterate and malnourished, Capoids score 13 points lower. Thus, I would guess, that if Congoids have a genetic IQ of 80, then Capoids have the genetic potential to score 80 – 13 = 67.

So if:

Indian genetic IQ = Coloured genetic IQ + 3

And:

Coloured genetic IQ = (Indian genetic IQ + White genetic IQ + Congoid genetic IQ + Capoid genetic IQ)/4

Then:

Indian genetic IQ = [(Indian genetic IQ + White genetic IQ + Congoid genetic IQ + Capoid genetic IQ)/4] + 3

Indian genetic IQ = [(Indian genetic IQ + 100 + 80 + 67)/4] + 3

Indian genetic IQ = [(Indian genetic IQ + 247)/4] + 3

Indian genetic IQ – 3 = (Indian genetic IQ + 247)/4

4(Indian genetic IQ – 3) = Indian genetic IQ + 247

4(Indian genetic IQ) – 12 = Indian genetic IQ + 247

4(Indian genetic IQ) = Indian genetic IQ + 247 + 12

4(Indian genetic IQ) = Indian genetic IQ + 259

This estimate for India’s genetic IQ is very similar to the estimate of 88 I gave in my last post using very different methods.

However a genetic IQ of 86 would imply that Indians in South Africa are functioning at their genetic potential, which is hard to believe considering Blacks in the same country are 15 points below their genetic potential and even privileged Whites seem to be 6 points below their genetic potential.
